You never know the type of person until you go out on a whim to speak to them. Even then you might not. But Adam gauges a decent bit about her from just how willing she was to respond harshly. It doesn’t really bother him, though. Compared to the way he’s been treated by much closer people in his life? It’s not exactly much of a conversational deterrent. He chuckles airily, shrugs his shoulders.
“Well, I don’t know about the former...I’m pretty used to not speaking up much. The latter though might be true.” He was a bit naive. He couldn’t help it, really. Either way, he doesn’t turn his head to look at her just yet. Just keeps his eyes fixed ahead.
“...Anyway. Sorry for bothering you, you just...didn’t look like you were doing great, so...I didn’t want to just...ignore it? If I could help in any small way, it’d be at least worth trying, right...?”
