I mean obviously that’s the ideal. I didn’t think the non-human Inquisitor races were that bad, tbh...The obvious/awkward questions, I assume, were intended for new players. It happened a few times in Origins, too, except you got an uncomfortable, “How do you not know?” from the person you asked...I specifically remember, in Ostagar, asking Alistair, as an Aeducan, why don’t we fight Darkspawn in the Deep Roads (or something to that effect), and he’s like, “You tell me” and I was so embarrassed I reloaded the game.

In fact even in DA2 with the “more fleshed out” Hawke, such questions arose. There is no way Hawke, a human raised in Ferelden, would not know who Flemeth is, or what “shem” means. Maybe the information for new players could have been implemented better in a way that didn’t hurt the roleplaying aspect, but I always figured that’s why those questions were available. After all, these are all optional questions. 

That being said, there were plenty of times where the overall story felt more curtailed to a human noble. In fact, the general naivety (not knowing who Mythal is, not knowing about the lyrium trade, etc) may work best coming from the mouth of a sheltered human....BUT my point was if I HAD to pick between fleshed out PC but only one race or the option of several races but the writing were...more spaced out, I’d go for the latter.

ASFKDHAJ YES sorry i was being mostly overdramatic, it’s just that i talked back to my mother and like. we’re mexican. we don’t do that. it’s just not a Thing

it’s like the anger and indignation of a hundred lil vals came up and i was like no!! i deserve respect too!! but as soon as i stopped talking i felt my soul leave my body like,, oh my god im gonna die

like i get into fights with my mom all the time but it’s always when im having a mental breakdown and im clearly just acting crazy all over. it’s not an active decision to undermine her authority

YEAH. the fact that people resonate with this is just. god dude. i hate that this is common enough where a lot of people know exactly what im talking about. i just literally do not understand the amount of disregard for other people this sort of thing takes. like you're literally just ignoring the fact that the other person is a living, breathing human. they aren't just some fucking toy for your amusement or whatever the fuck you're doing this for
