Happy Fourth of July!
We at Panther-stars would like to wish everybody have a safe and happy celebration today. The United States is messed up right now, but I’m quietly confident it will get better and I’m proud to live in a nation that we can force change for the better in, where our voices and votes matter. Remember the starting tenants of the US from our Declaration of Independence- “ We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness”. We are a nation of immigrants, and we should celebrate that.
The bittys here would like to join this- Saffron, Mint, Paprika, and reluctantly Sathe wish you a safe and happy holiday. The text is the poem “The New Colossus, inscribed onto our Statue of Liberty.
Stay safe. If you or your pets don’t like fireworks, stay inside and I hope you a peaceful night. If you enjoy them go have fun. Drink lots of water, and I wish everyone a calm and enjoyable day.
Alterations
I noticed something Interesting- in most art of Softbones type bitties, the magic and eyes are gold. I did Saffron’s in blue, and I chose today to change it to bring him more in line with the type. Here the new look. He’s pleased with it. Some of the queues updates may show him with blue eyes if the photos predate today, such as those I will post of Saffron interacting with Sathe.
Pavilion
In my quest to create a complex of buildings for my bitties? I have created a new addition. The pavilion has a stage with an adjustable microphone for karaoke (which Paprika is currently enjoying), a bar, and a dance floor. The bar has a roller skating skeleton printed on it and it is fantastic. Hope everyone can agree with me on that at least.
Playtime
I had some relatives over for a while today visiting, so I left these guys alone for a bit. They seem to have managed to occupy themselves and have fun anyways though.
Saffron got into some of my wooden pieces- the tiny catapult ammo and targets. Not meant to be toys, but I hadn’t the heart to take them from him.
As Papyrus-type bitties, Paprika (My Teacup) and Mint (My Meek) love puzzles and games. Looks like the tiny connect four I found went over very well
Brownies
Made some brownies today. Saffron is very curious what i’m doing.
On a more personal note, as I mentioned before I am enlisting into the US Navy and they keep altering my date for shipping to basic training. Honestly I don’t really trust what they are telling me, since they were for half a year saying you are going July 10th and then they called and were like hey can you go tomorrow then as I get in the car to leave they call me and say no we decided not to send you today (Also because the US government is kinda messed up right now. I just want my science education). But they told me today they want me to ship august 21st. So that gives me plenty of time to really get this blog into motion and queue up plenty of posts. Look out the next few days for bitty shenanigans, puzzle playing, and showing off of new items and clothing. The next bitty introduction will be some time late this week or next week and once all bittys already adopted have been introduced and the last few rooms are finished Maybe in 2 or 3 weeks I will offer a tour of the buildings I designed for the bittys. Or I might do maybe a building each week? I have one building just about ready, It has community space and empty bedrooms (room to adopt), then I have a building housing my 5 bittys currently adopted, then a community home. The first building maybe I’ll do this week since it is finished and has no direct spoilers in the tour plans. Hmm. I’ll think about it.
Mint
Finally the time has come. Mint is finally finished (Mostly. They still need their sweater and boots, but I can’t won’t wait any longer for those to be finished. I’ll just post them up when they are done. Mint is a Meek bitty, a a real darling. I’ve got some photos, though they are shy, I’m hoping Cinnamon’s arrival next week will help with that. Here we go.
Mint a cutie. Teal eyes, delicate features. Mint’s got some faint scarring on their palms/forearms. Why? To be later revealed. They are being adopted as part of a pair with their best friend, Cinnamon, who should be introduced next week. Mint is nervous about the temporary separation, so they are clinging awful tight right now as I carry them inside. (Literally. Because of the way the dolls are built, positioned like this the pressure of his grip is actually fairly significant and noticeable, like I would imagine a living, breathing version of Mint to be. I like the physical symbolism of it.)
All my bittys yet introduced. Saffron, Mint, Paprika. Sathe, my sister’s bitty, isn’t pictured but has been previously introduced. There will be two more introductions for bittys. I also have four empty beds for if I adopt any further bittys after the next two.
He like Berry well enough (My very large teddy). This is a good development considering his shyness. Saffron and Paprika startled him, and Paprika’s talkativeness isn’t helping. Mint has a lot of trouble keeping up with their quick speech since they move too much for lip reading to be an easy task. They are being very polite and very accommodating though once Paprika realized the problem.
They had some fun with my markers. I need to get some more their size, they have very neat handwriting. I’s like to see how well they can draw with pens not as big as they are. In far more detail i’m sure. I probably couldn’t even do a basic doodle with huge pens my size.
Mint’s bookshelf. They like young adult fiction, classics, fantasy, and just a touch of romance. Not my favorite genre, but they know what they like. Mint also likes dinosaurs. They were pleased with my provided statues/toys in their size. I’m super glad they liked their first day with me, even if it was a little stressful.
A glance at Mint’s room.Bed, desk with nice gems on it, bookshelf, some landscape art, They like blue and pink so their room reflects that. Well, they like this shade of pink. This nice metallic. It goes very well with blue, which is their very favorite.
After all the initial stress, Paprika somehow talked Mint and Saffron into playing cards. I’m not sure what they are playing and honestly i’m impressed. Cards are more Sathe’s or Cinnamon’s thing, not Mint’s or Saffrons. They are enjoying themselves though. I did all the card for a full classic deck by hand. I’m thinking of surprising them in a few days with a Uno deck in their size as well. They’ll enjoy that I think.
This looks fun. I picked up a tiny game of connect four and this is a good match for two papyrus type bittys. A nice puzzle to engage the mind. I’ve played a game of connect four where the board was human size was before, and it really is engaging. Saffron is asleep on the party rooms roof. Is that safe? I think so but i’ll move him in a minute to be sure.
Chilling by himself for a minute. Trying to communicate with Paprika has Mint very tired. I’ll be super happy once Cinnamon is here. Mint and him know each other very well, and Mint is anxious waiting. Cinnamon will also keep Mint from overextending themselves like this. Until then i’ll keep a better eye on them. I’ll also pick them up a new writing pad. They’ve almost filled their papers with all the conversations they’ve been having with Paprika. (As i’m sure most know, Meek type bittys are deaf, but prefer to write or draw to communicate rather than learn sign language. Mint does know a few basic signs, but only really use them with Cinnamon.)
Hanging out while I attempt to practice sewing a shirt. Can't find a good pattern- if anyone has a good, easily adjustable by beginners pattern for making doll shirts, It would a be a lifesaver. I’m hand sewing all of this. I have mastered drawstring pants and I can do a basic tank top, but I want to sew a few shirts and sweaters with sleeves, and I’m getting close, but adjusting a pattern is hard with no actual instructions. Mint is checking out the tablet, Paprika the community bookshelf. Saffron is asleep. That isn’t where he should be, that bed isn’t intended for the bittys, but i’m not going to protest. Softbones are legendary for sleeping in weird places, and at least he is easy to find here.
Relaxing for a minute.
Seeking some comfort. Berry is too large for him to hug. Todays been a bit overwhelming.
Quietly watching while I scroll through Tumblr. I let him sit with me away from the others for a bit. They are all getting along, but enough is enough for one day.
Friends
I was concerned about Sathe being in close proximity to mine, because edgys are not very compatible with most other bittys as much as I adore them. It turns out however Saffron and Sathe get along very well, and there haven’t been any problems yet (though admittedly the one I was really worried about was Sathe and Cinnamon, whose types aren’t at all compatible.)
They are super cute. Though it is worth noting Saffron now has gold eyes. These photos do not show the updated appearance.
Ouch. I’m cringing a little at the reminder of how long I didn’t finish the TV project-It is fully functional now with a plastic screen photos slide into and images of various TV shows to watch. This is just a doodle leaned up against the unfinished frame. I’ll have to do the house tour soon and show the updated look.
Saffron fell asleep I think. This photo is on my phone and my sister won’t explain. Sathe is being pretty tolerant of the fact Saffron is asleep in half these photos.
On a similar note, Sathe and Paprika are politely ignoring each other, but Saffron and Paprika get along fine.
Mint is almost done, so intro tomorrow i hope. The delays mainly revolve the fact my sister's friend Poison is over, and she honestly is a delight but she is also very distracting. I promised brownies if she finishes her section of the doll so that should help. I also will post up a followup after Mint’s intro. After the jumpsuit I made Paprika that was not supposed to in fact be a jumpsuit, I did manage to master the sewing of drawstring pants. Sathe and Paprika got a set, Saffron got several seats + some shorts, and I preemptively even sewed Mint some though I won’t know for sure if they fit until they are actually finished. I did it by height so we will see. Now I need to figure out how to sew a shirt that I can easily adjust the pattern of. Photos after Mint is made so they can actually wear their pants.
