hey i’m back in your inbox but mostly bc i wanted to make sure i’m not in my own head bout this but i know you and lotsa people here are very good at being critical of the graphic novel so i trust all y’all’s insight. basically i’ve been relistening to taz and i’m on rockport and so i’m like you know what i have the graphic novel w me i’ll like skim it while i listen and i just. i realized they made taako a like BAAAD gay stereotype in the graphic novels. like. i’m a gay guy and i was reading it and i was like hooold on. and i’m not sure if people talk about this or have but i wanted to just throw it out there to see if people have. like. noticed. they inserted him saying “what’s the skinny” LIKE????? and in all the graphic novels they make taako so...mean? for no reason? he’s not a gay barista at 6 why is he getting mean!/j but like fr they put him in like booty shorts and thigh highs and make him way more. flamboyant and just. bad stereotypical..... and i’m a gay dude who likes to wear eyeshadow and wear skirts and platform heels like. it just feels very. wrong to me.... and going back to mischaracterization i feel like they’ve done the same to magnus and merle making them watered down too! it’s jsut very strange that they do this to a story who’s biggest driving points are ira characters THE END FIGHT AND VICTORY IS POSSIBLE VIA THE BONDS BETWEEN PEOPLE!!! sorry this is so long my apologies in advance i should like send you money in exchange i jsit know you and lots of people here are so smart with this and i’m just. in awe. thank u for you time as well i hope you have a lovely day

god yeah,, okay this is something me and my friends have actually talked about before, and i have DEFINITLEY seen this discussed by other folks on here as well, so you’re not the only one to notice this issue with the GN as well... It feels like extra fucked up knowing Justin was super against Taako becoming a gay stereotype, and yet somehow the GN ended up pushing that stereotype for laughs and cheap jokes anyways??? It’s just really weird... other people who are way more qualified to talk about this have definitely made posts discussing this before, so I really recommend checking those out if you can find them! I want to go find them as well for my own reference, but ye... it suckssss 😔

It’s alright I will censor for you!! Honestly I am VERY open to my blog becoming a safe space for minorities to vent about racist and transphobic and gross content creators ( or people in fandom in general ) who have made you feel unsafe or uncomfortable in any way. Like I think we need to be more honest and open about these issues, and if people want to anonymously vent to me about the racism, transphobia, antisemetisim, etc. they have faced in this fandom then I am more than open to it. Cause I know me and so many of my friends have dealt with this and I wish so many of us didn’t feel afraid to talk about this, or like our experiences don’t matter or whatever. But yeah, no need to apologize my friend!! You’re good ;w; <3

But yeah, looking at this artist’s work, they’ve drawn hazbin hotel fanart so let’s just say i’m not surprised sigh 😔
