I’ve almost finished my project doll. I bought a Doll-Chateau Dolores head that was missing its headback - one of my favorite sculpts from the company, and of course, long discontinued. After some restoration work, he’s finally part of the crew.

Just now fully realized every single one of this Zaoll's toes have been modded separate, and very nicely done.
I ended up with a scraggly gray wig on him, but I’m not convinced it’s perfect. What hair do people think would look best on him? Name suggestions?
I’m having some trouble getting work done on time these days, now that the world is turning again. I have a bad habit where if I have Real Work to do I punish myself by abstaining from Fun Projects until it’s done. Except this never works, and I just end up doing neither. So I’m trying to be kinder to myself and do both things in moderation.
I finished Kara!
I made her wig and eyes! Because I didn't want to wait 100 years for shipping.
Her faceup took a long time, but I'm so happy with her!! Now I need to make some clothes... but honestly idk when that'll happen.
At first, there was a sleeping head - and the customer said “Let there be eyes!”.
But the head just turned into Hole-y McHolehead - And the artist said “let there be space for the eyes!” - so spaces there appeared, made with a mighty Dremel.
But the holes were too small for big 14mm eyes, so the Dremel had to be used again and again - to make the holes more round, to give them shape, to bring them to life.
And suddenly there were eyes, and the customer said “This is perfection!” - And the artist was satisfied that the mod turned out well.
I got Lex's arms and legs! He's whole! I'm sorry I haven't been posting a lot. There are a lot of things that have been bothering me lately and it's really hard for me to keep track of my social medias on top of it because of how of the political stuff is so frightening. I feel like that's all I do lately, reblog political stuff, and then I'm completely apathetic. I just don't have the energy to post the creative stuff that I wanted to share and... Well the political stuff is kind of important. I hope you like the way that Lex looks. My art, sculpting, and creativity is rejuvenating and I've been so taxed by an overwhelming and vague sense of dread. Bear with me here and I'll start posting more pretty things with more frequency again soon, I promise!
I keep trying to do a mouth opening mockup on my phone. It seems no matter what shapes I try, it looks doofy. I'm not sure if it's a fundamental flaw of making his mouth open, or if it's the fake look of the white teeth, or if the hair + clothes are screaming "hello fellow kids" too hard for me to look past. (Edit: cropped out some hair and clothes to focus better)
Does it look any more or less natural to yall?
Left original Mano profile
Right a rough painted mockup of where I might mod his lower lip and possibly chin
this is too scary
