Stages of WIPS just for fun
"wow! what a beautiful doll! ... I'm gunna mod it."
Once again, having the audacity to go well iutside my skillset on this one, lets see how it goes! Top photos are before, bottom are the current stage in the wip (the "blob on resin so you can later carve away and get the subtle features you want" stage.) Next step! Sanding, carving, and crying about how hard symmetry is.
Sculpt is the lovely Bonelace's "Leon from Schenectady"
i also declawed him
Nora 🌳
I finally have my grail. Old doll from the very first release. Maybe someone recognise it by it's tattoo. I didn't plan to unassemble it at all. But painted "bean" started to peel after just few moves. So I had to save tattooed part. I'm not familiar with restoring makeups etc., but on the video it looks ok. Hope with sueding it will be safe for as much long as possible. Next I need to sueding wrists, all legs+hoove parts, chest/shoulders and neckhole before assemble it. Once started it has to he done well all. 💪
Sewing in hair is sort of relaxing actually
Now have to style this mess and glue her edges (the short hairs to frame the face) down
Okay sat down and actually thought about how I want the pigeon BJD to move and drew out a rough sketch. It'll need some fine tuning but I just want them to be able to sit with their little legs out so as much as ORB BODY was cute, I don't think it will work well with the legs.
(For those curious, I posted this originally over on IG and forgot to put it up here too)
My process of creating a BJD for the first time
I sculpted my own BJD-inspired little doll for the first time! Including sewing his outfit, I worked on the project over the course of December til March.
He's based on my artistic fan-rendition of dr. Nitrus Brio from the Crash Bandicoot video game series, and I'm planning to make a few of his colleagues as well! 😊 Here's some reference pics for context, for those who don't know the character.
Read on if you want to see the process of his creation!
(Heads-up; Contains censored doll nudity and loose body parts and all that~)
What if I just carved myself out a little niche of making object heads for BJDs?
Haven't printed this one yet, probably won't until after Resin Rose, it depends on how quickly I can get my printer to stop throwing a fit...
