Helloes! Getting back into BJD after having owned 6 precious little resin friends 2009-2012, and having grown to miss them dearly.
I'm going to be reuploading a selection of fave photos from my old Deviantart gallery here, as well as recovered forgotten content I've never uploaded before, and ramblings and updates on the new chapter in my BJD journey!

My love for dolls has never really died no matter my age, so I can't say bjds were my first dolls but for a while I did move from 1/6 scale to 1/3. My collection of bjds didn't really grow, therefore, I guess, the ones I do have, are very special to me. Maris is one of them.

And finally, I've picked up 3D work on Trevor's body! It's such fun learning Blender ^^ Getting his knee joints right took me a while, but I thiiink this'll do. WIP!

Finally took Trevor out of storage since a move! Fixed up his squashed lashes and changed out his eyes back to these, his true defaults. ^^ instantly love his gaze a lot better now!
Also, just got this hair in the mail which I'm hoping to successfully turn into a new wig for him! The tactile feel of these curls alone is making me squee, never had any doll wig like it! It'd suit him perfectly :3
Finished my newest doll's face up. It's a Luts KDF summer 2023 (same as summer 2020).
A while ago I saw a post on bjd confessions where someone complained about people painting dramatic blushing on their dolls as it just looks like rosacea. Now I have rosacea or something similar on my face and I don't mind it at all, I think it looks rather cute. But there are people in my life who every now and then suggest that I should get some kind of cream to get rid of it. And I'm always just confused. Why would I do that?
This thought process inspired me to go all out on the blushing on this doll. She has rosacea, so what? I dedicate my art to every rosacea hater lol
Now I need to make a wig and some kind of dress maybe? I bought a shirt and a knitted jumper months ago but I want something summery for her to wear now. Even though currently it's 20C and pouring outside.

Trevor v2 is complete! ^0^ I'm so happy I pushed through with a redo, he's much more aligned with his original design now! It was also my first time face-upping with a fine brush rather than pencils, super pleased with the result ^^ There's a comparison pic with his v1 head at the bottom.

Unfortunately he came out a little messy. I made a couple tweaks; thicker ear tips, brought teeth forward a nudge, fine tuned my print material profile (it was also quite stringy and I'd used a different profile than before), and sliightly angled the head back on the print board to get some more lift and support under the ears. Reprinting! 🤞🏗

learned a new thing 🖌🖌🖌 heheheh XD Looks like he's close to print-ready! Gonna fix up his eyewells and headcap and all that and sleep on it, but I thiiink he's getting printed this weekend 🏗

WIP: Trevor v2
As I'd been planning for a while, I've reopened Trevor's project files! Now that I've seen v1 printed and painted and staring at me for a while (lol) I had plenty of time to think about v2. V1 is a cute sculpt, but lacking some characteristics that I'm now trying to strengthen in v2, to really make him look more accurate to his original design and vision ^^ His eyes got much bigger though slimmer/relaxed, mouth got a big fix, ears a little bigger. WIP!
We've got 3 yule cats hitting the shop tomorrow at 7pm est, Church here included (tell me they don't look like they'd be voiced by Idris Elba).
