I don't understand why certain army's think that Wale is after Namjoon's fame? As if Wale isn't a mainstream rapper who already has an established fan-base. Rubs me the wrong way tbh, also I can't be the only Kpop fan who gets embarrassed at the desperation after western validation? Truth be told, the west isn't checking for Kpop and vice-versa and I wish stans would understand this instead of turning it into a competition of which Kpop idols get the most western validation.
I don't know why everyone keeps sweeping namjoon's long list of problematic behavior under the rug under the guise of him having 'apologized'. The most important part of an apology is to say what it is you're sorry for. Otherwise we can't know if you're actually sorry for the things you did or just saying it. Whether he's too ashamed or it was just another empty closing comment, like 'we'll work harder', etc; don't act like he's woke or he's better than any of these guys. That's not an apology.

All of this is fair enough, I guess? The only thing that was kind of grossly generalized was the comments about colorism in America being a racial thing. Like in some cases yes, but for most things, it’s inner-racial. Light skinned black people being ugly to dark skinned black people; lighter skinned Latinxs being ugly to dark skinned Latinxs (esp. Afro-Latinxs, as I’ve been told).
There was also the mention of the n-word incident with the Shinhwa song. I have questions more for the network than I have for Rapmon tbh. Like we found out that they (Shinhwa) removed the n-word from the song and for some reason the network decided to have BTS cover the old...unchanged version...why? It was changed for a reason.
With all that being said, no matter how much you dislike an idol, please please don’t leave death threats. That’s not okay. I agree with that. Secondly, if a person chooses to continue disliking Namjoon, then that’s their choice and no justification can change or alter that (unless they choose to change their mind)

namjoon should be criticized for the racist and sexist things he has said and done, but one thing he always gets shit for that i don't feel is justified is his "colorist comments" because... he is darkskin... he is the darkest member of bts... isn't he allowed to make those kind of jokes? i can't believe namjoon talking about his members who are lighter than him is compared to say chanyeol talking about his members who are much darker than him. or is it just me who thinks it's totally different?

When people say that namjoon was not around people of color growing up they usually mean that he hasn't been around black people and has only been around asians for the majority of his life and of course Korea is a very secluded country and it doesn't house many foreigners so of course many Koreans haven't been around black people or know of black struggle yet they idolize the culture and the people and the behavior, I don't know how you expect him to understand what black people go through (p1)
(P2) or to know that what he said was racist in any way and instead of hating on him for not knowing we should teach him and correct him on his behaviors and if he doesn't listen or if he doesn't change then that's on him not us, I just can't understand how you'd expect a person who has only seen the "bright side" of black culture to understand the "dark side" of black culture
