黒大将バーガー // Kuro Taisho Burger Honestly, I expected this to be a lot more unappetizing than it actually was. Granted, the grey cheese was a bit horrifying but it didn’t taste decidedly more chemical than your average American cheese slice (its color comes from bamboo charcoal, btw). I liked the trashiness and texture of having a hash brown on my burger, and the black sauce is made of squid ink, wine, garlic, and tomato--my favorite things! My one warning is that this really is a lot to eat, especially with a side order of fries.

Or as I like to call it, the "Death Note Burger".

Day 12: Hasan arrives

Today we picked Hasan up from the airport but we were quite late due to the typhoon that hit yesterday so Hasan was waiting for about 1 hr. However we got there in the end. We went to Ginza to visit the Sony building. Then we went to shinagawa and had Spanish food which turned out to be a total rip off. So we decided to go to burger King nearby our hostel and we had the black cheeseburger however it turned out to be a really crappy burger so that sucked anyways we going to Kyoto tomorrow so toodaloo

Since 2012 Burger King in Japan has been selling a burger known as the Kuro Burger which means Black Burger. They have taken it to the next level and are now selling the Kuro Burger with a layer of cheese which is black.

The black coloring comes from bamboo charcoal and is in both the bun and the cheese. There is also an onion and garlic sauce made with squid ink, beef patties made with black pepper. There are two types of burgers: the Kuro Pearl and the Kuro Diamond with all the fixings. The burgers go on sale on 19th of September in Japan for a limited time only.
