Metallic Pens and Black Notebooks

There's a story here somewhere. A few months back, almost to the start of the year, I ordered ballpens, different colors, and types, online. They were cheap. Really cheap gel pen types in bright neon and metallic colors. I think these were about 7 pesos per pen.
It was too good to be true.
When the pens arrived, I found out that these were ballpen refills. Unfortunately, I didn't have nor used any of the cylinder ballpen-holder things that these pens fit into. I just kept the pens away, under the cabinet in a pencil holder somewhere. I almost completely forgot about them.
A few months ago, I found black notebooks for sale online. I don't collect notebooks. I hoard them. So I ordered about 20 black notebooks, as well as 10 metallic ballpens. When the notebooks arrived, there were a lot of thoughts going through my head. Simple things, like, "Why?"
What would I write? Who would I send this to, as a gift? Do I write something and send these as a gift, or as a letter of some sort? What if I printed pictures and sent these as photo albums?
The black notebooks use thick paper, and there are only a few pages, making the notebooks thin. So far, the metallic silver ballpens work well on the notebooks. These work better than calligraphy pens or ink. Although I do have a calligraphy pen with metallic red ink. That works fine, I guess. Dark red or maroon on black looks like dried blood in a dark wall.
Black ink on black notebook would be something I might be stupid enough to do. At the edge of creativity, I would. It would be something like "Winter Rabbit in the Snow."
I didn't really know that the pens I bought were metallic. The ballpen refills, I mean. Not until I saw an empty ballpen, and I replaced the ballpen cartridge/straw with one of the metallic refills. I had to cut the end part because it was a bit longer than the cartridge case, but it works. That was all that mattered. Silver, metallic ink on black notebook looks fine.
That should work. Now if I start writing on the notebooks soon, then I might end up using the ink refills before they all dry up.
Meantime, I may have lost about 10 hardbound notebooks (plain, relatively heavy, and ruled) which I was supposed to give as Christmas presents.
