Crispy on the outside, soft and eggy on the inside - savoury French toast with creamy, rich black cheddar, burst tomatoes and packed full of flavour, spicy chilli jam. My hubby works across time zones and it’s his first full weekend off in months so brunch was a forgone conclusion. But I was feeling too lazy and half asleep this morning to go big on brekkie. I had a massive sourdough bread loaf, gorgeous eggs and his fave meal is savoury French toast (aka egg fried bread) but it looked boring. So, I looked through the hamper of gorgeous goodies @mydelifresh sent me to poshed up my plate. I am over the moon in love with this dreamy, creamy black cheddar from J.J. Sandham, a small family cheese making business. It curled like a dream and had these speckles running through it that reminded me of salami. The “Reaper’s Revenge” chilli jam from @thechillijamman gave the perfect amount of acid to cut through the rich toast and cheese and... it gave the right kick to wake me up!
