Black Snakes

Does anyone know what Black Snakes represent? We have had a lot of interaction with them lately (mostly because they think the chicken eggs we raise and the baby birds in our chimney are yummy), but I’m curious if they represent something more. I do love Black Snakes and I know that they keep other venomous snakes away most of the time. I haven’t been able to catch and relocate the last one I found, but I am keeping an eye out for it.
