Oolong: How does your OC decorate their space?

Thanks for asking!! I'm answering cozy tea asks from here if anyone wants to play (: This is a bit complicated because Selora's never really had a place of her own to decorate until after Veilguard? She did eventually get a little cordoned off space in the flat she shared with Viago until she was about eighteenish, and then he left it to her after he became Talon, but she didn't...really change anything about it? She just kept it mostly as it was, just marginally more cluttered because she is not as fastidious as he was and he wasn't around to bitch at her for leaving her stuff everywhere.

In the Lighthouse, she didn't really think to decorate the meditation room, tbh. Never, like, hung anything up or made it her own in any way. The fact she unpacked anything even really has more to do with being a complete failure in keeping things tidy. So, the first time she'd really actually think about it or realize she has the ability to dictate what her personal space looks like is not until after Veilguard. Hypothetically, if she were given complete control, I think she'd lean into making her space really lush, but in a cozy way, if that makes sense? Plenty of places to sit and lounge, cushions, carpets, in jewel and dark earth tones. Warm lighting. Lots and lots of art, but not fancy framed art that feels very neat and contained. She'd commission murals to decorate the walls, probably. She's also the type to pick up different knickknacks and furniture pieces from different places she visits, so there's likely a lot of clashing pieces that would drive anyone with particular aesthetic tastes bonkers rofl

Castelin x Alistair: Alistair was definitely catching feelings for Castelin by the time they were going through the Circle Tower (second main quest after Redcliffe), while Castelin notices she's catching feelings when Alistair gives her the rose. Proper realization comes with their first kiss on the road to Haven, but they don't actually say "I love you" until after they get Genitivi back to Denerim (about halfway through the events of the game).

Hawke x Fenris: With how generally touch-averse Fenris is (and magic-averse too), the thing that Hawke does is brush lightly against him with just a finger or the side of her hand, and then wait for him to push back, to confirm that he's up for being touched. Similarly, she asks before dropping support spells on him, instead of just assuming he's okay with it like her brother is. Simply letting him take the lead in both cases matters a lot to him.

In return, the thing that Fenris does that makes Hawke happy is just giving her head- or back-scratches when they're sitting near each other, or otherwise initiating physical contact.

Tyria x Cullen: The first time Cullen meets Tyria's family, he has to put up with all three of her brothers (twin and two younger brothers) and her father eyeing him warily. Her twin brother probably even not-so-subtly threatens his health and well-being if he so much as makes Tyria cry (she's not happy about this and tells them all to back off). Her two sisters-in-law, on the other hand, are pretty mellow and welcoming of Cullen. The worst about threatening Cullen, however, would probably be Tyria's grandmother, Keeper Deshanna; Cullen takes the threats gamely, however, knowing that Tyria's family means well and are working to come to terms with her marrying a human.

Once everyone's comfortable together, Cullen gets to hear about all of Tyria's mishaps learning how to use her magic, and about the time she decided she was going to run away from the clan and be a wandering scholar (she was only six at the time, and realized quite quickly that it would involve having to learn how to camp on her own, and decided that she much preferred staying with the clan and getting to eat cookies).

Meanwhile, Cullen's family (siblings, any spouses they might have) is extremely welcoming of Tyria, making her feel like just another member of the family, which is very helpful because she doesn't meet them until after Trespasser, when she's down one functional arm. They treat her like a sister right from the start, and that means telling her all of Cullen's embarrassing stories, to her delight and his embarrassment. Stuff like the story about him trying to get recruited by the templars, but also talking about how he would sing in the Chantry choir, and catch frogs with Branson, and play-fight against the golem statue in the middle of Honnleath.

Saadrah x Lucanis: I think Lucanis would want to see Saadrah in custom Crow leathers, something elegant and stylish but also practical. Bonus points if it has elements that make it suitable to a fancy party, like perhaps a drapey skirt that's cut in a way to make it easy to run and climb in so if when the party turns to murder like Crow parties often do, she won't be impeded by her outfit.

Saadrah, meanwhile, would want to see Lucanis in brighter colors, maybe something less buttoned up than Antivan Crow fashion. A nice Tevinter-styled coat, perhaps a swashbuckling shirt and sash, maybe borrow a page from Isabela's book and get him a dashing hat. The better to find him in a crowd if they get separated (of course he complains that he's a Crow, the point is to not be seen in a crowd, and she just grins and pokes his nose or something like that). I'll bet someone off-handedly said something about "pirate Lucanis" and Saadrah fixated on the mental image.
