Kitty had snuck back into Grayson's apartment. Technically they had broken up but she had left her favorite comfy clothes over there. He was supposed to be at work so she thought that it would be fine. That was until she slipped into the bedroom and heard the door jiggling and his keys in the lock.

Damian draws in a breath, his eyes blurry at first until he blinks to clear them.

Richard's face is hovering above him. The cool floor of the manor's parlour room under him.

It takes Damian a moment to recall much of anything about how he got there. "I was petting Alfred." He stretches and his back cracks with the effort. "Must have dozed off."

she knows it's a genuine offer. ---but it was offered to the wrong person. artemis wasn't particularly good at sleeping, and the thought of potentially being nagged about that sounded... unpleasant.
