"Fairly often. I've been fortunate to have a lot of threads with some cool muses and I'm usually poking Rex to reach out to writing partners if we haven't heard in a while. She mostly ignores me, but I miss them! I also think she needs to get off her phone and study more."

"Not nearly enough. I want her to write in my pets into threads. She keeps making excuses. I also want to see Jonathan more. She also keeps writing me as a child when I want to explore what it might be like to grow up and decide my own path."

"I'm talking about whatever you said to Richard. He's going back to Bludhaven. I know it was you. Things were fine before. " He hissed, arms folded in displeasure.

God, the humility of his father, this one.

Barbara sighed, pulling the car around out of the drop-off line and sliding into a parking space a ways away from the building. She put the car in park but didn't shut the engine off.

"Okay," She sighed, relaxing into the driver's seat a little. "Nobody is asking you to bring back a whole gang for a sleepover tonight. And... Tim has never been well-adjusted so that's just not a good argument."

She paused, thinking over her next words carefully as she always did when meeting Damian's bullheaded ways.

"We worry about you," She said as kindly as she could. "Well... I worry about you. When you say you don't wanna go to camp, when you push away any opportunities to try and make a life in Gotham it's like you're not allowing yourself to leave Nanda Parbat."

For a moment she lets that hang in the confined space of her little sedan, bracing for the boy's ire.

"It's...10:45am. Camp starts at 11. You'll be out by 3. It's 4 hours, not the rest of your life."

"Why does Drake get to be maladjusted and I do not?" Damian huffed, effectively losing any weight to his argument.

Barbara's words soften him though, the quiet tone of her worried confession making him pause. A crease appears between his brow as he glares at the foot well of the passenger seat. "I am not in Nanda Parbat... I'm not delusional." But his slightly wounded tone suggests something deeper at play.

He wonders how to voice his thoughts. If she would understand where he was certain the others would not. Todd, maybe, but he was always too busy and emotional to deal with what he had to say. Thankfully she changes the subject before he can say anything incriminating.

"Fine. You get one day. If it's as horrendous as I think it will be then I'm not coming back." He reaches for his backpack, suddenly eager to escape the conversation.
