(Mortal Reminder - Pentakill) Staggering back from the force of the Warrior's axe-blow, Blaidd spits up a globule of blood, hearing his greatsword clattering to the floor a short distance away.

"Light-blind wretches," he snarls, "Do you really think I will let you pass?" Watching the Galdjent step forward, shield raised, Blaidd let his lip curl back in a snarl - and let the Wolf burst forth, a sudden wall of teeth and fur and claws that the would-be heroes cannot help but step back in alarm from. "So-called Warriors of Light," the Wolf-man snarls, towering over them all before his front paws hit the stone flagstones, shaking the ground. "I will tear out your throats!"

FFXIV Write 2023, Day Eleven: Once Bitten, Twice Shy

Standing with his arms folded, Blaidd scowls as he looks over the parapet. The Warriors of Light, fools to a man, are scurrying around the courtyard - looting everything that isn't nailed down, and killing any of his men that they see.

A snarl curls back the soldier's lip as he draws his blade - a vast slab of sharpened steel - and leaps down into the courtyard below.

Hearing the hushed responses of the would-be heroes at his appearance, he levels his blade at the leader - a Hume holding a large axe. "You are intruding. You will leave willingly, or you will leave in a corpse cart."

The Hume holds his shoulder, clearly remembering what happened the last time they crossed blades - but steps forward regardless, readying himself to fight.

From my vantage point, I watch the Warriors of Light fight my men. The soldiers are well-trained, but they are ultimately no match for Hydaelyn's chosen. Not having been granted power from the Shadowkeeper, it isn't long at all before the Elves are all dispatched to a man, blood dripping from the head of the lead Warrior's axe.

Snarling, I divest myself of my armour. Fighting in this body will not aid me, and so I kick the pile of firewood in front of the closed door to my chambers, the cover of seconds at most. But it is enough. The doors explode in a burst of flame, but I am already shifting - the lupine body that the Shadowkeeper gave me subsuming my born-body. I hear the shock and fear in the voices of the Warriors as they adjust the grip on their weapons, and I ready myself for the fight to follow.

They will not harm more of my men.

What's Shio's perfect idea for a date?

What about Blaidd's? Or Cemi's?

Shio's idea of a perfect date would be to spend a day with someone, quietly and privately. A quiet afternoon in a sunset locale with food, a nice walk, a bath, and then retiring to the bedroom.

Blaidd... Doesn't really have much of a concept of dating. He lives in the wilderness and hasn't been in a city in years. His idea of dating in the present day would be to spend the evening with someone hunting, then eat food and sleep somewhere together under the stars.

Cemi - first, he doesn't date fans. But his ideal date would actually be to go outside of Ul'dah with his partner, spending the day in a city where he didn't need to maintain his public face for his fans. He loves his fans, and he loves his work, but an ideal date would be for him to be able to put down the kayfabe for a bit.

Dreamtime - Blaidd with Nara?

This one, a nightmare tickled my muse. Under the fold.

Lupine claws sound on the stone as the Wolf runs through the castle. The sound of leathery wings fills the air, but every time he snaps at the smoke, his jaws catch nothing.

Overhead, the sky is oppressive and dark, devoid of light, and bolts of blue and red lightning fork through the sky. Eyes watch him from the shadows as he sees the voidgate, freedom. Lunging at it, he narrows his eyes-

It snaps shut. He sprawls on his side, tumbling from the precipice of the castle. Landing in a ditch of thorns, he sees pale figures he knows - women he tried to protect. Howling in agony, the world shifts as he loses sight of the bleeding, dying figures, finding himself back in the hall he started in. A mocking voice greets him. "They're dead again. Try again to save them, Shadowkeeper's mutt. If you can." Snarling in defiance of the Warrior's voice, the Wolf pulls himself to his paws again, launching through the castle even faster.
