Sometimes I get in weird moods where Hell Brain™️ says that I’m faking being nonbinary (especially on my more feminine days). Then I think back to my childhood and realize that I was never what society said I was.

I had a Ken doll that would only wear a red sequined halter top evening gown

I hated having boobs so I wore exclusively sports bras from 4th grade all the way until freshman year when I tried to overcompensate by being hyper-feminine

Since I simply can not contain myself, here's a snippet from "Truime-inntinn", the Ruben Pallister x Reader fic I started working on! It's around 550-ish words.

The first few days when he was gone were always nice. Maybe not nice-nice, but okay-nice. The house was quiet and devoid of his distinct aftershave smell.

You used the time to get yourself off, again and again and again until your body grew numb to the frequent stimulation. Deep down, you knew that it was nothing but a hypersexual attempt at regaining autonomy over yourself, to show yourself that you could give yourself just as much, if not more, pleasure when he wasn't around.

It occupied you for three days, sometimes four, but that was bordering on the brink of self-torture then. After that, you wouldn't touch yourself for weeks because the novelty had worn off and the guilt kept creeping in again. You could imagine it so vividly, the fit Ruben would throw over finding the little red bullet vibrator you bought on a rare night out with a friend years ago after a considerable amount of cheap wine you'd gorged yourself on. The smell of peaty whisky spread as soon as you pulled the cork from the neck. Your hands poured liberally, and your mouth started watering before the first sip burned down your throat. The alcohol made you feel warm from the inside out promptly, the sensation spreading through your chest and into the curves of your shoulders. From across the edge of the glass, your eyes darted down at a small and slender dent in the countertop.

"No. I told you already that you're not gon' go there and you keep asking!" Ruben's bottom lip had a dangerous quiver to them as he'd spat the last words of an already loaded sentence, right before a heavy BBQ plate thundered down onto the dark wood, chipping it with the impact.

It had been about volunteering at the local library once a week, nothing more, but apparently already too much in Ruben's opinion, and his opinion was law in these walls.

"Don't you have enough books here? What do you want at the library anyway?!" He had started towering above you, using his whole size to dwarf you down, nostrils flaring as the cold and surgical anger wafted off of him.

You'd given it up there and then, never asked again because you didn't want to risk it being you instead of the countertop next time.
