Shitpilot’s twitter is always a good source for con info. It really does seem very fitting for him and I’m very pleased about this being canon :’)). He still gets to be Uncle Lance for his nieces and nephews (I was always attached to the idea that the kids were his siblings and looked up to him), but is also the family baby?? PERFECT.

But seriously. Me too. Lance’s characterization is probably going to go nowhere, and I will still love him to death. If only because he had so much potential to be a well-rounded, fun and interesting character.

This reaches beyond bad writing into genuine confusion territory. They had been building up to this reveal that fans had been WAITING for for a season an a half. They set up the mystery THREE times with Keith looking at the blade. Planted hints over episodes and then made season 2 mostly Keith and Shiro-centric then they literally whiz the reveal down their collective legs. Its literally mind-boggling. Why work so hard for the set up if the pay-off is a resounding shrug?

I am cracking up there is no better way of describing this. Keith’s heavily hinted-at lineage needed a payoff scene and there was zero of that. Sorry, was I supposed to care about these characters and their growing bonds or not?

Oh Lordy, I forgot those repetitive scenes involving Keith staring at his knife. How could I forget?! I was constantly going “good gREAT WE GET IT” during this season.

Something about that show feels like...like over the garden wall and Futurama had a baby. A wonderful frog baby.

This is. A very accurate way to describe this series lol. Like the visuals are going for this pretty stylization that draws on a sense of childhood wonder towards being outside with nature, but there’s also a heavy focus on the comedic aspects of the world Anne’s been dropped into. It’s such a fun setup.

I will just keep plugging along, and eventually I will get to the end of at least one of these damn behemoth WIPs. Hopefully along the way I’ll think of something short to write that will give me a bit of instant(ish) gratification hahhhh

Honestly I’m not surprised? It sounds like the kind of thing Keith would do when he lost his temper. Iverson probably made some comment about Shiro or nudged him wrong. Its about as shocking as him doing something else stupid….like blowing himself up maybe.

I think I always assumed it was something less...severe? Like I think I always had it in my head that the blame for Keith being booted out was on the school. They were too harsh to him when he was grieving over Shiro’s disappearance.

But, no. He definitely fucked up if this is canon. This actually explains a lot about his personality, interestingly enough.

He has that weird quirk of lashing out, realizing what he’s done, then instantly going timid and guilty (a la his vlog). He’s aware of what he’s capable of and he hates that part of himself. This little character tid-bit adds to that.

Sounds like someone at the Voltron panel asked why Keith got kicked out of the Garrison.
