Replay 2 [Mission Replay] (Blast Corps, including the “Blast Corps Replay ~ 20 Years Anniversary” version [1997/2017])

Another N64 highlight screaming all kinds of cool! The way the Bass and Synth mix together is what gives that “mystical MIDI” aura, with loads of Drums and electronic sounds to keep you entertained throughout. That’s what makes this track pretty special; a consistent rhythm of really long sounds being kept fresh and exciting by the shorter sounds that supplement it, all ending on a good note thanks to 1 of the coolest beat drops I’ve ever heard from the N64, a bit over 2 minutes in.

And that’s not all there is to talk about. Graeme Norgate, who composed the game’s soundtrack as well as the TimeSplitters 2 soundtrack mentioned way back in this list, went ahead and made a remaster of this specific track for the game’s 20th anniversary! Those who felt the original composition didn’t sound “intense” enough for the titular premise, will probably prefer this version for its addition of a lingering Electric Guitar string, extra reverb at key moments, and more “modern” sounds, although I like both versions equally. Like most Bandcamp releases, you can donate or otherwise to get the music some good sound formats if you so desire, to hear it wherever you go!

In my silly little imagination, either version would also be 1 of many music choices I’d associate with the expert computer programmers out there, its got such an old futuristic vibe to fit the bill. Here you’re looking at another game with music good enough to convince me to play it in the future! Rareware is the same company behind Viva Piñata, after all
