#365DaysOfVGM Pre-2023 Info

The #365DaysOfVGM list is finally complete, and was far more exhausting to make than I expected. Let me say a few things about the list to give you an idea of what you can expect:

Each track will be posted around 3:00 P.M CT like I did just now, I’ll try my best to stick to that schedule, although the daily posts here on Tumblr will be scheduled so that they’re guaranteed to be on time. The order is semi-randomized, with some tracks moved around to improve pacing and prevent oversaturation in the following ways:

No two separate days featuring tracks from the same game of origin will be in this list, although remasters/extensions from later games will count as the original instead of the remaster/extension’s source. Likewise, extra remixes/remasters will be posted alongside the original as long as they’re on the same day.

No two tracks from the same franchise will be adjacent. It’ll be spaced out an extra space away from each other; it’s easily noticeable when it happens.

No two long tracks will be adjacent (Spaced out the same way as mentioned earlier).

All remixes/remasters will be official; no fan remixes unless released with the original distributor’s name as well.

No more than six tracks from a single franchise will be featured in this list (Mega Man is an exception for now, I’m trying my best to replace more throughout this new year, I apologize if it gets on your nerves).

No unused tracks unless they can be heard in gameplay for an earlier playable build; nearly nothing in VG music sucks more than hearing a super impressive melody, only for it to be featured in no playable sections at all. This also means no VG-related album/anime/movie music unless it follows after a related in-game track on the same day.

The Day 1, Day 120, Day 248, and Day 365 tracks are predetermined, and some other miscellaneous things you’ll notice soon enough.

With all of that said, feel free to enjoy (or not enjoy) my handpicked selection of VG music preferences from all the games I played and/or researched in my life up to this point and then some! Maybe you’ll find something new to get attached to along the way! :D

this game means so much to me. i love it very dearly, and its one of my fav games of all time. i had a different idea for this art, but i dont have the time. perhaps i might do it for papers marios 25th american anniversary in february? but, i hope you enjoy this drawing i made.

Never-before-published model sheets for canned Amblin Cats movie 🐈‍⬛✏️👁️

Hi all. As promised, I am sharing a comprehensive .PDF of model sheets that were created for the Amblimation Cats movie that never saw the light of day. Most of these model sheets have not been published or posted anywhere on the internet as far as I'm aware. I'm going to get ahead of some questions for the good of the order:

Are these real? I certainly didn't sit and create all 117 pages myself for the sake of an elaborate hoax!

How did you get these? I work in the animation industry. A senior coworker caught wind of my cats obsession and said he had the Xeroxes and asked if I wanted him to bring them in. Internally, I flipped my shit. And then I digitized his hard copies.

How did your coworker get these? They were found in the library of the university he used to go to. (Not super unusual at an arts school in southern California.) He made photo copies back then and has been holding onto them. The thing is he knows nothing about CATS; isn't a CATS fan, never seen it, etc. I guess he just felt it was something worth holding on to!

Can you upload better quality? Unfortunately what you're seeing as good as the quality gets. These are scans of photocopies from the 90s. There is nothing to be done for the crunchiness.

What about (missing characters)? I'm showing you everything I was personally given!

Which character is (nondescript drawing of a cat)? If the image isn't labeled, your guess is as good as mine! I put all the misc./unlabeled cats in the back of the PDF. The only exceptions are ones that I felt were abundantly obviously supposed to be a specific character.

Who are the artists? Unfortunately, there's no way I can tell for sure. None of the sheets are signed. I wouldn't even go about guessing because many concept artists can perfectly emulate more "well known" illustrators whose styles were sought after. My coworker said he might be able to figure out who the draftsmen were; until then it's a mystery! If I find out, I will come back to this post and update it with that information.

Are these all the model sheets ever? No! In fact, there are model sheets that have been posted online that are not in the bundle I was given. I have no idea of the sum total of model sheets in existence.

It's a tough time to be trans, so I plan to try to be more comfortable with existing as I want to in public and as well try to do what I can to defend my other trans brothers and sisters and other loved ones. I may also try to do something fun or make some art, if the inspiration strikes.

Another group that needs all the world to stand up with and support them is our Palestinian brothers and sisters. Whatever you can do, it is time to do. And here is a family of a widowed women and her two small, darling children that you can help support in these dark times.

My Journey to Escape the War in Gaza

My name is Abdelmajed. I never imagined I’d be sharing my story like this, but life in Gaza has become unbearable. I am a survivor of the war here, and in the blink of an eye, everything I once knew—my home, my safety, my community—was ripped away from me.

The war has transformed Gaza into a graveyard of broken dreams. The buildings that once stood as symbols of life and resilience are now piles of rubble. Every corner is filled with the echoes of explosions. Every moment is shrouded in uncertainty. There is no security. There is no stability. There is no light at the end of the tunnel.

Basic needs have become luxuries. Food is scarce. Clean water is even scarcer. Hospitals are overwhelmed and under-resourced, and there is almost no medical care to be found. Every night, families go to bed hungry, praying they’ll wake up to see another day. The cost of basic necessities has skyrocketed, and it’s become a daily battle just to survive.

I’ve seen things I never thought possible—standing in long lines for a piece of bread, rationing every drop of water, and watching my people suffer in silence. I have lost everything—my home, my safety, my dignity.

Escape from Gaza is my only hope, but it’s almost impossible without financial help. The cost of evacuation is far beyond my means, and without support, I’m trapped in a warzone with no way out.

I’m reaching out to you now, in the hopes that someone, anyone, can help. I am not asking for luxury. I am asking for a chance—just a chance—to live. A chance to escape this never-ending cycle of fear, destruction, and loss. A chance to rebuild my life somewhere safe, where I can begin again, where I can find hope once more.

My name is Abedmajed Elderawi, and I live in Gaza with what remains of my once large and loving family.
