3. Play with Hangul.
I’ve described the structure of Hangul previous posting. I think Hangul is ‘2D puzzle’ or ‘Alphabet puzzle’ that fills in the blocks with letters.
So, I would like to tell you another rules for solving this puzzle.
Very simple. First, you choose a consonant you would like to speak. It will become the core sound of the word like first alphabet in English word.
Second, you should locate the vowel, right side or down side of the first consonant. Vowel is only located on the right side of or below the first.(Some combination vowels occupy both.)
Finally, There still remains another space you could choose between take or not. Bottom side of the block is prepared all for this.
OK, now Let’s do this game with this word, ‘ball’. [bɔ:l]
1. Ball’s first consonant is ‘B’. Switching to Hangul, ‘B’ becomes ‘ㅂ’.
2. Ball’s vowel is ‘a’, but as you already know the Ball’s vowel sounds ‘o[ ɔ : ]’. So you should find a vowel ‘o’ sound in Hangul. -> ‘ㅗ’
3. How about connecting two things following rules above? ‘ㅂ’ + ‘ㅗ’
‘보’
4.The last thing of this posting. Attach the last consonant of ‘ball’. Alphabet ‘L’ is changed into Hangul ‘ㄹ’.
‘볼’
