bleach....mutha' fuckin' bleach
All this inbetween stuff
he's (tite kubo) really messing with me?
Thoughts about the latest Bleach chapter?
I loved it! I loved everything about it!
The Isshin/Masaki was super adorable! The way Isshin described how he felt abut Masaki was just beautiful!
The Ryuken/Katagiri scene was my favorite part of the chapter (must be the angst…why do all my ships have angst!!!). Her speech broke my heart but it was so just beautiful and emotional I seriously got teary eyed which was funny and embarrassing cause my husband was reading it with me so he looked at me like I was crazy.
This chapter also just gave me so much hope that my ships will become canon in the end so It made me super excited. I can’t wait till the next chapter, I’m really curious to know the real reason Masaki died…
So that’s about it…I just loved everything about that chapter and the story was just so well told and now it has me anxiously waiting for more!! :)
What might Isshin have meant by the "real reason" Masaki died?
As requested by...nobody. I just felt like it. :)
At the end of the latest Bleach chapter, Isshin says cryptically that he is about to tell Ichigo the "real reason" that his mother died. Strong words! And it won't be until next week that we find out what he meant! But for now, let's guess. By talking about every possibility I can think of for what great truth Isshin is about to reveal. What is the secret that surrounds Masaki's death?
1. Aizen is responsible.
Why we might think that: Because the Grand Fisher was one of Aizen's experiments, after all. Perhaps Aizen sent it to get rid of Masaki for an Ichigo-related reason. Also because Aizen is just responsible for everything.
What it would mean: The next time Ichigo fights Aizen, he WILL have a reason to kill him.
Aizen: But you will fail. Because I am immortal.
Ichigo: YOU KILLED MY MOTHER AND YOU THINK IMMORTALITY WILL SAVE YOU?!
Aizen: ...
Aizen: It's like you don't even care that I did it all for you.
2. The evil Quincy are responsible.
Why we might think that: No particular reason. The Quincy just happen to be the big bads right now, so maybe they are now responsible for everything like Aizen used to be.
What it would mean: It would add a serious emotional counterpart to the inevitable Juha Bach / Ichigo fight. Plus, it makes it super weird that Juha Bach thought Ichigo would join them.
Juha Bach: Join me, Kurosaki! Together we shall rule the galaxy, as distant relations!
Ichigo: No! You killed my mother!
Juha Bach: No, Ichigo, I AM your mother!
Ichigo: ....huh?
Juha Bach: Sorry. Got caught up in the moment.
3. The Ishidas are responsible.
Why we might think that: Ryuken's mother must be pretty pissed that Masaki not only failed to marry Ryuken, but also became part hollow and shacked up with a soul reaper. Those are just, all the things that you're not supposed to do as a Quincy. And we know that the Quincy have hollow bait, so...
What it would mean: This would probably be the reason that Ryuken isn't the Quincy's #1 fan.
Ishida: But...murder? I can't see Grandma doing something like that!
Ryuken: Have you not noticed that the Quincy are basically Nazis?
4. Soul Society is responsible.
Why we might think that: We know that Soul Society has a history of killing Quincy. Hell, as recently as Ishida's grandfather Soul Society had a direct hand in a Quincy death. Perhaps Soul Society somehow orchestrated the attack or, at the very least, failed to help even though they were watching.
What it would mean: It would make Ichigo's relationship with Soul Society (even more) awkward. Plus it would give Ichigo a possible reason to join with the Quincy - in Juha Bach's mind, anyway.
Ichigo: You knew about this too, didn't you, Ukitake?
Ukitake: Um.....maybe. But I totally dropped you a hint! When I, um, didn't say anything about it at all...
Ukitake: Maybe I'm a bad person.
5. Ichigo is responsible.
Why we might think that: Ichigo already thinks he is responsible - his spiritual pressure probably attracted the Grand Fisher, after all. But maybe there's more to it than that. Maybe something about Ichigo's super special snowflake of a birth made him a target for the Grand Fisher.
What it would mean: The first thing Ichigo said about his mother's death was "I killed her." It would mean that Ichigo was right the first time.
Isshin: ...And that the story of how I met your mother and then you killed her.
Isshin: So - ice cream?
Ichigo: [silent screaming]
6. The Visored are responsible.
Why we might think that: Um, no logical reason, really. I just thought they'd be in the flashback, since they're in the world of the living this whole time and Isshin did know about them (although maybe that's just because Urahara told him). All I'm saying is - if they're going to be in the flashback, they'd better hurry up and appear.
What it would mean: Their constant chorus of "We're on your side, Ichigo!" is a little...depressing, if they had any hand in his mother's death.
Shinji: ...you just had trouble coming up with enough reasons, didn't you, BLG?
BLG: Shut up at least *I* include you guys.
7. The Soul King is responsible.
Why we might think that: Kukaku's cryptic comment about how Isshin would be "upset" if Ichigo went to the royal realm has still not been explained - what does Isshin have against the Soul King? Might it be connected to Masaki's death in some way?
What it would mean: Ichigo would have to fight the Soul King. And isn't that what we're all waiting for?
Soul King: Also it's going to make wooing Kurosaki Ichigo a little...more difficult.
Soul KIng: But that's okay! I love a challenge!
8. Masaki died because Urahara's solution was only temporary.
Why we might think that: We know that Urahara couldn't fix Masaki - he could only keep the hollow inside her at bay. But perhaps that was only a temporary solution, and at a certain point the hollow inside Masaki killed her. Perhaps during the emotional trauma of seeing her son get attacked. After all, we saw with the Visored that emotional upheaval makes hollowfication stronger.
What it would mean: Urahara is seriously responsible for everything. Also it would explain why Masaki didn't just use her Quincy powers.
Urahara: Kurosaki, please! It's not like I KNEW that my solution was temporary and at some point your spiritual pressure would attract a hollow while your mother was present and that would cause the hollow to kill her and put you on a path to eventually doing everything I'd ever hoped and dreamed!
Urahara: Who am I, Aizen?
9. Masaki died because Aizen's hollows always have self-destruct buttons.
Why we might think that: Okay, so admittedly I had trouble coming up with 10 reasons. But I was just thinking - the hollow inside Masaski comes from something Aizen made. And there's still that whole moment where Tosen explodes for seemingly no reason, as if there was some kind of self-destruct button inside of him. Maybe that's just a thing that Aizen does - build his creatures to explode at a moment's notice. So the hollow inside Masaki just exploded on Aizen's command, killing her.
What it would mean: Aizen is such a dick.
Aizen: Well, excuse me. I didn't want the Grand Fisher to eat her.
Ichigo: ...
Ichigo: I SO should have killed you.
10. Masaki is still alive.
Why we might think that: I suppose we shouldn't, really, since Isshin said he would tell the truth about Masaki's death. But maybe he actually said "death" (with the quotation marks), as in, you thought it was a death but actually it wasn't because all of the Quincy are apparently immortal.
What it would mean: Presumably it would mean that Masaki is with the Quincy right now, and that's why Juha Bach thinks Ichigo will join them.
Ichigo: Yes. Because joining you seems so much more likely than "mounting a rescue mission like I've done every other time something like this happened."
Juha Bach: ...
Juha Bach: So it's not my best plan.
Goddamn you Kubo, now I'm forever going to believe that Masaki and Isshin stayed together and got married because they were forced to and that Isshin is kind of a jerk for leaving the Shiba Clan and his Division behind without even thinking twice about them.
I never thought I'd say this, but Ryuuken and Katagiri have more chemistry considering they actually have some sort a bond that wasn't forced on either of them.
Thanks a whole lot, Kubo. Screw you.
Kubo stop trying to make me sob harder over these Isshin/Masaki feels ;A;
