I think I am going to do a meta on him  because from the very first appearance, he’s shown never approaching anyone for a fight, unless he’s observed them first.

He watched Ishida and the Orihime and had no interest in Ishida until he used an advance technique and it is during this time, he infects Ishida with nanao cameras.

He lost to Ishida because Ishida used a move that he’d never heard of and thus he was unprepared and did not have a counter for it. so he left and chose to observe Ishida instead, because he couldn’t believe Ishida destroyed his bankai. .

This is his how he is able to watch and defeat Szayel...

Same thing with Gizelle...he does not approach her until after he watched her fight for awhile and kubo referenced his stash in the closet before we saw them, because character were wondering what in the fuck he was doing with those dead bodies.

In the case with Pernida, he learned from his from fight with Ishida and since it was broken twice he had to modify (Ishida split it in half and so did  mayurii, well he blew it up, but Ishida is the one who broke it first)

He’s also seen in an omake offering to modify Zambimaru and make him/them look like Chimpette and Snakey, because Renji’s Bankai was broken --so the modification is validated and not asspull and...

again, if you examine his fight with Ishida, you would see why he gave it the ability to clone itself, with specfic counters for whomever he’s fighting, so the bankai could still fight but wouldn’t be at risk....but Bleach fans don’t want to think about shit. only complain...cuz they can’t help themselves and can’t stop, even when there is nothing to complain about....

Mayuri isn’t as op as you think he is, he’s simply an evil genius , who likes to observe his lab rats FIRST...in order to figure out the best way to torture them, and does so with great relish.

I love him for that.

Bleach 639 Manga Chapter Review ブリーチ - Mayuri’s Bankai New Form. Is the fight really over?

On this week’s chapter of Bleach, the fight between Mayuri and Pernidas continues where we left off with a “handy” cliffhanger. This is my spoilerific review of Chapter 639, “Baby, Hold Your Hand 2″. And we’re back to the Numbered Title...yay.

And then it’s over!

Reaction/Thoughts: So what do I think about this week’s chapter of Bleach? I think it’s a pretty good chapter, we get to see Mayuri’s Bankai, in a new form, against Pernidas. My thoughts about the new version is that it can shed, once it attacked. And also, it can swallow its enemies. I need to address something following this chapter, that the fans have speculations that Mayuri is gonna die in this week’s chapter or in this case, by next week. And most fans are agreeing on this, whether or not how Kubo will play out for Mayuri’s “death”. And of course, judging from the panel of the chapter, something tells me that the battle ain’t over, which I think it could lead to Mayuri’s demise. And something tells me that Nemu might end up doing something in case Pernidas’ escape or came out of nowhere, you like a Shadow Clone scenario. All and all, I think this chapter is a pretty good one, with speculations on how it will play out for Mayuri. I give Chapter 639...

Can Mayuri please die now?

This chapter is why I always laugh when people say Urahara’s solutions to problems are always convenient. The thing about Kisuke is that Kubo always gives him time to come up with solutions and they’re always related to the current circumstances: 1) going off to SS to save Rukia? He’s been planning that for a century, 2) using an inflatable gigai? He could’ve beaten Yammy without it easily, simply took it out for a test drive and then used it during the Aizen fight, 3) two special kidou designed to beat Aizen? Again, a century of prep time and deep knowledge of both the Hogyoku and Aizen’s abilities, 4) pills that return a user’s bankai? He was shown spending time in Hueco Mundo specifically for that purpose, to study and observe, and though his solution worked just fine, in the time it took him to prepare the pills SS suffered heavy losses. This is why I’ve always found it absolutely baffling that Kubo doesn’t do the same with Mayuri. Mayuri isn’t just over-prepared, he’s downright prophetic with his inventions. And it’s an absolute shame, because despite my hatred for him as a person, he’s a very interesting character.  I like it when his disdain for the well-being of others works with SS’s ‘For the greater good’ policy, as showcased at the beginning of the arc when he sacrificed thousands of lives to keep the world from collapsing. He did what no-one else had the guts to do and it complimented his character perfectly. I never understood why certain authors think that having their more brilliant characters predict everything under the sun is taken to be proof of intelligence. Having a character react to surprising developments by making up a plan on the spot is far more interesting and could very well be proof of their creativity. Even better, it could be a chance to show that even a brilliant character can perform poorly under immense pressure, since academic smarts don’t often translate into quick reflexes and thinking on their feet. I’m definitely over Mayuri’s plotkais and am desperately hoping the fight ends with Ishida taking him out, something I’ve been hoping for since forever.  The other problem with Mayuri is that Kubo clearly meant for him to die by Ishida’s hand at some earlier point in the story.  It’s one thing to be a mad scientist with little regard for anything other than his science, but Mayuri was introduced as a twisted sadist, abusing Nemu and casually torturing Quincies to figure out their abilities and biology. And then Kubo made him ‘team up’ with the boy whose grandfather he had brutalized : /  So yeah, I really want to see him die, and soon.
