Character Application: Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez
Get ready for the word vomit =w=b
CHARACTER DESCRIPTION
Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez. Sexta Espada of Aizen Sousuke’s army. I would describe Grimmjow as; loud, rude, brash, ruthless, bloodthirsty, cunning, (somewhat) noble, selfish, and that he has a thirst to prove himself.
Loud and rude, Grimmjow often uses coarse language and hardly has any respect for those around him. Before his short battle with Ulquiorra Cifer, he had said “Fuck you” (in the manga) and “Blow me” (in the anime) in response to Ulquiorra’s demand to hand Orihime Inoue over. He doesn’t hesitate to say what he wants to say, he just says it. He isn't one to mince his words, he sends his message across, uncensored.
Brash, because he acts on his instincts/feelings/beliefs. Even though he did not have Aizen’s permission to go to Karakura Town, he went there anyway to kill those who have reiatsu, no matter how slight. He is so impulsive that he dared to raise his zanpakuto against Tousen Kaname. He did, however, stop, when he realized that if he harmed Tousen, Aizen might bestow an even worse punishment than Tousen had done upon him. As impulsive as Grimmjow is, he does (grudgingly) realize his place.
Ruthless, because he has no qualms over harming fellow comrades. This is shown from when he attacked both Loly and Menoly. It did not matter that they were serving Aizen Sousuke just like he was, or that they were females, he attacked them anyway. Loly and Menoly were not the only ones who were his victims; Grimmjow, after regaining his arm, had killed his comrade, Luppi Antenor. He did not even seem to care that his Fraccions, who had been his comrades/followers since he was an Adjuchas, had died.
Bloodthirsty, because he loves to fight. The better the fight, the more excited he becomes. When he is involved in a fight with an opponent, he can be seen grinning, and even laughing psychotically. Grimmjow is sadistic; the more pain his opponent suffers, the more excited he feels. He displayed excitement during his first battle with Ichigo Kurosaki, where he beat up and punched the teen repeatedly.
Cunning, because, well, even though he is a reckless individual, he has shown intelligence in the way he knows how to take advantage of certain situations to suit his favour. When he was faced in a battle with Ulquiorra Cifer, who had come over to have Grimmjow return Orihime to him as she had been entrusted under his care, Grimmjow managed to find an opening in the battle. With debris flying everywhere, making it difficult to see, Grimmjow had put a Caja Negacion into Ulquiorra’s Hollow hole, sealing Ulquiorra, who was an intelligent being himself (so much that Aizen respects his intelligence), away.
Grimmjow does have some good in him. Well, maybe that isn’t the right word for it. Nobility? Anyway, he seems to follow a set of rules. He refuses to be involved in a battle that is not considered “fair”, because even if he wants to win, he wants to win because he is better. He also does not like being indebted towards someone. This is probably because he does not want to feel obliged to be nice to that person. He would much rather repay his debt, and then go back to his normal ruthless self. An example of him displaying this quality is when he saved Orihime from Loly and Menoly.
Selfish; because he acted on his own beliefs (going to Karakura Town to kill those with the slightest reiatsu) and demanded Orihime to heal Ichigo just so that Grimmjow could fight with him once more. Ulquiorra had already defeated Ichigo beforehand; healing Ichigo would bring a huge risk, and surely Grimmjow knew that. Grimmjow’s failure to defeat Ichigo affected Aizen’s plans, as Ichigo defeated the man later on. His selfishness was also shown from how the deaths of his Fraccions did not affect him, even though they went to Karakura Town with him because of his belief. Their deaths, the risk of Aizen’s plans being ruined... they all did not matter to him. He puts himself before others; so, yes, Grimmjow is selfish.
I say that Grimmjow has a thirst to prove himself because of his eagerness to prove that he’s stronger than Ulquiorra (even though Ulquiorra is clearly two ranks above him) and Ichigo, and also in the way that he argued with Ulquiorra’s reasoning for letting Ichigo live.
Being the sort of person that he is, I believe that having to serve Aizen made him hold a bit of a grudge towards the man. Even though he was in Aizen’s army and he clearly served him, he does not respect Aizen, not entirely. In front of Aizen, he would address him as “Lord Aizen”, but once Aizen isn’t around, that sign of “respect” is gone. Grimmjow obeys Aizen, but to a certain extent; I think he would obey when he knows that disobeying Aizen would bring a heavy price – an example is when he wanted to attack Tousen.
So, to sum it all up, Grimmjow is an extremely violent and dangerous individual, and is the very definition of his aspect of death; “destruction”.
RP SAMPLE
“Che!” Grimmjow huffed as he flung himself on his bed.
What. A. Shitty. Day.
Shitty, because he had to spend most of his time on a mission with that asshole, Ulquiorra Cifer. Grimmjow scowled. Quiet, stoic, know-it-all Ulquiorra. Whoo, that just spelled fun, now, didn’t it? The entire mission consisted of him arguing with Ulquiorra, and Ulquiorra just staring back at him with that stoic expression of his before crushing every single one of Grimmjow’s arguments.
He swore, if he was going to have more fun like that again, someone’s head was going to get ripped off and stuck on a stake; namely, Ulquiorra’s. Just thinking about that guy was enough to send his blood boiling. Seriously, Ulquiorra had only been here for a few weeks, and Grimmjow already hated him to the core.
Everything he said, Ulquiorra would counter it with a different argument. If Grimmjow said that they should go left, Ulquiorra would say they should head right. If Grimmjow said that they should kill all enemies in sight, Ulquiorra would say that doing so would be a waste of time and that they should only kill the ones that are considered as "threats". If Grimmjow said that they needed to act immediately, Ulquiorra would say that there is no need to rush, that there’s time to prepare and plan.
Even when they agreed on something, they still managed to disagree. For example? Well. If Grimmjow said that Nnoitra was tall, Ulquiorra would go and say that he was “vertically enhanced”. If Grimmjow said that Yammy was fat, Ulquiorra would go and say that Yammy was, get this, “horizontally enhanced”. To Hell with this guy!
If their points of views did not emphasize how different they were, then their personalities most certainly did. Grimmjow was loud, brash, bloodthirsty and violent. Ulquiorra was quiet, so stoic that he was nearly emotionless (yes, nearly. He could catch the rare flicker of emotion that would appear in Ulquiorra's eyes every now and then), calm and only fought when necessary or ordered to by Lord Aizen.
He and Ulquiorra could not be more different. They were practically polar opposites of each other.
But that was just part of the reason why Grimmjow hated him.
What Grimmjow hated the most was the way those emotionless eyes seemed to look down on him, seemed not to acknowledge him. Everything he said would be brushed aside as though they did not matter, did not hold any value, and that frustrated Grimmjow to no end.
The scowl on Grimmjow’s face deepened.
It probably did not help that whenever Grimmjow demanded for a spar, Ulquiorra would state that it was useless as he was clearly much stronger than Grimmjow.
Tch.
Just because Ulquiorra was the Cuatro Espada. As far as Grimmjow was concerned, rank did not matter.
Well, Cuatro. You can keep on being a stuck up bitch. Grimmjow raised a hand, and flexed his fingers. I’m gonna find out your weakness. He then curled them, forming a fist. A smirk crept upon his lips.
He looked almost amused.
And when I do, I’ll make you regret it.
ACTIVITY
I would say that I’d be able to be online just about every day, or at least 3-4 times a week (if I’m very busy, that is. This usually happens during assignment season). It can be for an hour, or for as long as it takes to answer all questions in my ask. When I’m not at university, I’m always connected to the Internet, so it’ll be quite easy for me to keep the character blog active.
