3. Bleedin’ Ignorant For two grand pianos Whilst this piece was performed, the recording had issues due to the very complex nature of the music, hence the NotePerformer file. Played incredibly fast, with many dissonances and virtuosic figures, this piece was written on a train after an extremely unpleasant conversation with a bigoted man, who was totally unaware of his privileges. The last minute of this short work is almost an afterthought, symbolising the exhaustion one feels after engaging with arguments where the other party refuses to listen. The bell-like, higher octave chords are the pitches from the train announcements, which punctuated the debate, and allowed my departure.
