Prince or princess phainon?

hello completely random anonymous user i definitely do not know what a unique and spectacular question youve asked pulls out my whiteboard dramatically (⁠✿⁠◕⁠ᴗ⁠◕⁠)/[_____]

short answer? its complicated but i favor prince that needs to be rescued

long rambly answer? i think phainon could fit multiple fairytale archetypes for both the prince and princess so its hard to choose just one. on a base level you already have phainon as the regal knight in shining armor. hes dashing and swoops in to save people with his giant sword and noble heart. hes quite literally a white knight. and it allows for very humble origins. but he's also a fairytale prince. he's still heroic and charming but its less armor and more cape yk. he'd find a maiden in a tower and fight a dragon! and he's had a duty since birth to thousands of citizens. princess phainon also covers that base, in that his life is the kingdoms and his job is to serve them, but in a more married off for a political alliance way. regardless i think that both as a prince or a princess he is the type to be unfortunately cursed. sent to sleep for 100 years, or turned into a frog, etc. or exiled from his home. honestly i think phainon actually fills a lot of damsel in distress roles very well. hes the son of a poor couple who stole from the witches garden like in rapunzel, saved from captivity by the hero he's prayed for all his life.

ultimately i think phainon needs to be combination of the knightly type and the cursed/damsel in distress. hes adventurous and noble and heroic but he also needs saving. the beloved and kind prince of a kingdom that angers some evil force with his existence, so he's cursed or kidnapped and told by good fairies that a hero of his own will come and save him or smth. yk?

He’s my brother, I still love him. He’s an asshole a lot of the time but I want to forgive him fur what he did and maybe that’s what he needs to hear but it’s not my job to know that and I shouldn’t worry. I can still hurt and forgive him.
