It's like I personally need my masculinity to be silly and niceys but as it turns out me going "manhood is when you're just a silly little guy" on a personal level is not going to overthrow the patriarchy. The centering of men itself needs to be rooted the fuck out. There's no amount of expanding the definition of manhood that's going to abolish it as the center of the patriarchy. I don't think anyone should feel like their manhood is a doomed state of affairs/that it isn't worth having as an individual, but "manhood is when you are nice" is not enough in terms of wider praxis. Changing the decorations upon the idol is not going to remove the idol from its pedestal, I fear.
