it reeeally really bothers me that queer is becoming more and more common to replace lgbt because people would rather be uwu inclusive than preserve and foster safe places for actual lgbt people

i can’t join the lgbt collective at my university because it’s called the queer collective. i resent that word, its been used against me and i will never refer to myself that way. it is a slur and i am NOT queer, i am a gay man and a member of the lgbt community, i have never been and will never be ‘queer.’ so essentially that’s my one single avenue to meet lgbt people gone. and don’t you dare try to tell me to nut up and get over it and join the group anyway because i am disgusted that people think it’s okay to call an entire community a literal slur. inb4 waaa waa queer isn’t a slur... just shut up youre stupid (but some of you people think THAT’S a slur lmfao)

additionally... guess what weekly meetups they have. one for trans people and one for fucking ace/aro. like, no lesbian meetup, no gay meetup, no bi meetup. it’s fantastic that there’s a trans one but complete bullshit that non lgbt people get time and resources over the people who are Actually in the acronym. i would be happy to attend a meetup because it wouldn’t force me to self identify as queer but surprise there isn’t one for gay men. there’s also a horrendous amount of biphobia and lesbophobia all over the place mostly due to shitty inclusionists who think they can speak over real lgbt people. there are no other convenient or accessible ways for me to meet lgbt people. so don’t fucking tell me lgbt spaces aren’t being invaded by cishets because i see it daily. you do NOT belong in lgbt spaces and you are putting real and painful distress on lgbt people.
