So, they finally jazzed it up, eh?
Meh. Call me when things actually get interesting.
Is there a Blaseball fandom on tumblr? Because I need to know if Blernsball from Futurama is Blaseball. Or just if it’s definitely not Blaseball. I’d do the math myself but I don’t know enough about Blaseball. I know that players can burn and other things can happen to players, runs can be scored somehow. Good old Blaseball. And considering blernsball is a part of Hanukkah episode, then idk. Perhaps not too fruitful ground but I’m super curious.
Wanted to make this for a little while, my own version of the original poster for Penny Marshall’s fun but maybe not 100% historically accurate ‘based on a true story’ female baseball movie, ‘A League of Their Own’.
I love this scene so much! You think it can't get any more ridiculous and then a guy comes in from the bullpen on the back of a giant tarantula...
I love baseball, but I also really wish blernsball was real...
"Pouring out of the stadium LA-style."
TIL that LA Dodgers fans have a reputation for leaving the game early. I wasn't able to find a concrete consensus on why this is the case, but I found two main theories. The first is that the fans are trying to avoid the infamously terrible LA traffic. The second is that in many who attend Dodgers games see them less as spectator events and more as social events. The idea is that the baseball is simply an entertaining backdrop to a day of talking, eating, drinking, and other activities associated with attending a very large party. Regardless of the reason for this reputation, it explains a joke in Futurama's "A Leela of Her Own" in which fans leaving a Blernsball game early are described as "pouring out of the stadium LA-style."
I’m attempting to watch baseball
and all I can think is that Lonnie Chisenhall looks like the Secondary CW Hot Guy who loses his lady to Main Hot Guy (slightly sharper of chin and stouter of heart) so poor Lonnie decides to help the vampires take over the town/train.high school. Because heartbreak.
Like, he’s pretty enough for the CW, but just scruffy enough to be screaming “ I never meant it to go like this! Matillldaaaaaaahhhh!” at the end of the episode.
by which I mean, baseball is super interesting and I apparently have Buffy on the mind. And also, I have had a little bit to drink.
