I commissioned @meaniezuchinni to do a drawing based on the last scene of my most recent Roudise fic, "History Lesson", and they did such a freaking amazing job!!!
This is 30-somethings Louise and Rudy on the Wagstaff playground with their daughter Wendy. At some point, when I'm not supposed to be working, I will make a longer post about all the things I love about this drawing...For now, I'll just say thank you so much, Bee!!!!
Reblogging this to go into more details about what I love about this:
First: the background. That might seem like an odd thing to start with, but I really appreciate the level of detail Bee put into the background. I published the story on the anniversary of "Bob Actually"'s airdate, and the spot where Louise, Rudy, and Wendy are is supposed to be the same spot that Louise and Rudy were standing for their first kiss. I was really just expecting the yellow slide and the red brick wall of the school, and I would've been satisifed with that- but the extra details Bee put in, like circle of sand surrounding the slide and the details on the school building are just incredible! It really matches the background from that scene perfectly).
Second, Wendy. I don't really have ny artistic talent myself, so my only reference to Bee was the vague insttruction of "black hair like the Belchers but a face shape more like Rudy's" and somehow they captured that perfectly! An amazing piece of detail is in her hair. In the story, I made a reference to Wendy looking up to her Aunt Tina (because Wendy is a big sister like Tina) and always wearing a horse shaped barrette that Tina gave her. It's definitely worth a look to zoom in on the barrette to see the detail on it- and I love that it's blue, a color associated with Tina but not something I specified.
Third, Louise. From the first sketch, I just thought Bee captured her perfectly. Like, yes, of course that is an adult Louise Belcher. I can't get more specifc than that, honestly, it's just so perfect.
Finally, Rudy. Also, perfect, and specifically I absolutely love his glasses, and specifically, the fact that they don't look like his dad's glasses.
Anyway, this is amazing and I am genuinely in awe of Bee's ability to make something so wonderful based on the vague idea I had. I would definitely encourage you all to commission @meaniezuchinni for any of your fanart needs!
