So I was thinking about the grianst I sent you and I can make it better
Imagine he has an outburst of sorts because someone threatened Pearl and he ends up hurting her in the process, only to wake up forgetting who she is
I was saving the other one but rip that grian ayyyy
Grian is excited. He's started to remember almost everything after his coma. It took a lot of convincing from the other gods for him to finally get up. Iskall was fine, better than fine in fact. He was somehow a god. They refused to tell him how or why. Grian, deep down, didn't want to know. He knew he would hurt even more if he did.
Gods needed to know how to fight. He was told he was being protected, but not by who or what. He just knew Xisuma put precautions into place. He was thankful, on one hand. On the other, now knowing the president of his college had been a god this whole time was slightly unnerving.
Etho and Beef were with Pearl and Grian respectively. Both were tasked with teaching the young gods the basics of defense. Beef was relentless with Grian while Etho was simply explaining it still to Pearl. Why did he have to get the war god again?
Grian still kept an eye on the two, probably due to his paranoia some mysterious force would take her away. He could tell the previous sun god was somewhere in him convincing him too as well. He didn't understand how memories and reincarnation worked fully, but the knowledge seemed to be in the power itself. It reminded him of that anime Etho tried explaining once. Something about a guy who eats hair to get strong?
Grian was tossed once again by Beef and landed with a thud. Pearl laughed, her attention leaving Etho for a minute. That was when Etho moved to grab her. She realized a second too late and tried to move and block him, but her reaction was slow. He picked her up and tossed her just as Beef had done with him.
He saw a girl on the ground, knife held to her throat. A faceless man stood over her. He couldn't make him out. Maybe he wasn't allowed to know. He just knew his entire body and mind was screaming to get to her. He had to protect that girl. His sister was in danger. He was going to watch her die.
"PEARL!" He rushed forward, throwing Etho off. He heard Beef yell for Bdubs in the distance.Grian kicked at Etho, the other moving out of the way. Grian had no clue where his sudden ability to fight came from, but he appreciated it.
"Grian, calm down! Pearl is fine, look at Pearl, okay?” Etho blocked him. Neither would die, but that didn't mean someone could seriously get hurt.
Grian could feel something burn inside him that distracted him from whatever Etho said. He didn't care, he just knew Gem was on the ground and was hurt. He knew he had to protect her. The fire released, light engulfing both him and Etho. He heard a scream from somewhere, and everything went dark.
Grian was back in that place. He was floating. He didn't see anyone. Gods please not again please not again please not again. Bdubs put him there again. He didn't know why. He had to have done something. What did he do?
Did he hurt someone? He surely didn't hurt Iskall again. There was no way. He couldn't have. Iskall wasn't there, right?
There was a girl in front of him. Her features were blurred, but he knew her. No he didn't. But he did? He knew her name, on the tip of his tongue. He had said it so many times before. They had been here together.
"I know you. Who are you?" He couldn't hear himself, but knew the words escaped. He could tell from the flinch of her body. That hurt her somehow. He didn't know how, but it did.
"You remember me Grian, you know who I am."
He did and he didn't. She was so familiiar. They were floating but he knew the way she stood. He knew that even though they looked nothing alike, they were siblings. So why can't he hold onto that memory. Why was this so hard to believe. "I can't."
"You promised." Her face sharpened into focus. "You swore we would get back what we lost."
In a library, before any fight. Before death and regret and guilt. He sat with a girl. He made a promise to someone he cared about. He swore on his life to her.
Pearl smiled. "Let's go home."
