⚠️ OBJECTUM GUSHING UNDER THE CUT!! ⚠️
godddd oblivion is so pretty...... my most recent visit was my first time riding them, ive been so nervous to before but ive always wanted to try...! id built myself up to it as id been on most of the really intense rides beforehand but god....
their queue was the longest one of the day at around 40-50 mins (i went on a tuesday), and as i waited i was admiring their aesthetic- the scifi-esque, almost industrial feel, the intense music, the pre-ride videos and their ominous warning- "there is no escape, there is no happy ending for this story"- the building terror i started to feel as i strapped myself in, knowing what i was in for..... oh boy
its a short ride, a simple turn around a corner followed by that dreaded drop. front row, second seat from the end, feet dangling and heart racing as the train approaches the drop, holding us on the edge.
the plummet down into the abyss felt like nothing id ever experienced. id cheered and yelled a little, but not even the smiler or nemesis brought out such a visceral scream from me like oblivion did. it was terrifying... yet invigorating at the same time. as we pulled back into the station, the only feeling in my body being a scratchiness in my throat and my heart pounding so intensely that it almost hurt, i unlocked my seatbelt and stumbled outside, laughing.
its sunday now. five days since i first embarked on oblivion. i havent been able to get them out of my head. ive been aware of objectum for a while- including those attracted even to other rides from alton towers- but i didnt think i experienced those feelings until now. im privileged enough to be able to visit the park quite often, but even still i feel a sense of yearning when im away from them. god i cant wait to go back
look at my coaster bro im going to vertically drop 😂😂😂
a couple pics from my latest visit!! wish i took more, theyre soooo pretty ><
