How did you get idea for creating BLIZZARDTALE?
Heheh. Well, it all started about 2 years ago during winter vacation. I returned to my hometown to spend Christmas with my family. But like a big idiot, I had forgotten my drawing tablet back at my university. So I started drawing in my sketchbook again. (it was a little strange considering I haven’t drawn traditionally in a while but I adjusted fairly quickly)
While sketching in my room, I saw a hat hanging on one of my shelves. From the position I was in, the hat looked like it had ears. So I was like,”Lol, what if I put Sans in a cat hat?” And so:
I drew this bad boy lol. At the time, I called it BlizzardCat Sans as a joke. (I didn’t start calling it blizzardtale until later)
The idea for the story came way later though. At the time, I had just gotten Clip Studio and was still learning it’s graphic novel features. I was also half way through log 1 of Cybertale (another au I created before Blizzardtale but is still in development) Cybertale was going to be a long and complex project. So I wanted to start smaller. I wanted to see if I could complete a smaller story first.
So one night, I wrote the entire story for Blizzardtale. My first draft was pretty rough. I’ve mentioned before that in the early parts of development, I wasn’t in the best state of mind. The original draft was far darker then the final product and I’m glad it never got to see the light of day. After I received help for my mental issues, I scrapped almost everything and wrote something way better.
The concept stayed the same; what would happen if an au just ended without the inclusion of a human. From there, I just built up the world.
I used to draw Bliz alot in my spare time. Many of my long time followers may remember how active I was before. Drawing Bliz was basically therapy for me. But now I don’t draw him as much anymore. I like to think it’s because I’ve gotten better. I donno.
But yeah, Thats where the idea for Blizzardtale came from. It started out as a silly doodle and then became a legitimate au. ^^ Even though the main story has ended, I’ll still be expanding on it’s universe while working on Cybertale. I also gotta write an faq to keep things more organized heheh. ^^’
