How do you plan a proposal?

By just browsing in vimeo and youtube, you can already see a lot of ways on how you can propose to your girl. An it's quite a challenge for the guys today to think of something new on how to make his girl surprised with his own version of proposal. I just hate the cliched restaurant proposal where the ring is in the glass of champagne. He could've been more creative, right? So while I was listening to this certain song a while ago, it just struck me and I started daydreaming of my ideal proposal. Well it's something traditional, you know how much I love vintage things and ways. I'm a cat with an old soul, duh. I was just amazed on how the song became a catalyst of sudden pictures that flashed in my mind. It's kind of weird since I'm single and have not been dating or at least have a prospect for more than a year now (yeah it sucks, my social life sucks). And it's great. Well at least I already have an idea that may come on handy whenever needed in the coming years. So have you planned your own? :)
