Yay, I painted live with the superawesomecool Blot! this weekend at the Designyatra finale gig.
We didn't have much time to plan what we'd do, so this was pretty much on-the-spot spontaneous. I started off wanting to do more detailed type, but getting into the energy of the performance + limitations of painting on a not-too-large vertical surface got me improvising more performance-oriented styles like quick layering of colour and type, paint-blocking with my hands and (my favourite) splashing colour onto the canvas with both hands.
Blot's Avinash and Gaurav layered the shots with video snippets, stopmotion graphic pieces and their signature music style.
I'm hooked. More gigs coming up!
