Hi! For the Drabble List would you like to do 6 and 7? Maybe a funny and horny moment? Have fun!
Okay, so this one got away with me. I know you said funny and horny, but my mind went elsewhere. Hope you enjoy it!
"Are you enjoying the party, Ms? " The woman's voice took Clarke by surprise and she turned to see the most beautiful woman she had ever laid eyes on.
Alexandria Woods, or the Commander, was by far the most powerful woman in the city, possibly the west coast. Lauded as the Queen of Crime, Alexandria was feared by all, even those in smaller, lesser known circles like Clarke's. Getting a job from the Commander was a sign you'd made it in the underworld and Clarke could only dream of reaching that high one day.
"Griffin," she answered, trying to hold back her smile. "I am enjoying myself. Thank you, Ms. Woods. You have a beautiful home."
"I built it for the love of my life." Alexandria answered, gazing around the house with loving eyes. There was no concealing her pride in her home, and rightfully so.
The Woods' mansion sat on a ridge overlooking the ocean. It boasted a large open floor plan with six bedrooms, an Olympic size pool with a water slide and amenities most people could only dream of having. Clarke spent twenty minutes browsing the art gallery before Raven filled her earpiece with explicatives, telling her to get her head in the game. But Clarke couldn't help it. She'd always dreamed of a house like this one.
"She designed it years ago on a napkin," the commander continued. "We always dreamed of living here together."
"She's a lucky woman." Clarke offered.
Alexandria was known as an immensely private person. She never had a plus-one at parties. Never divulged names of her lovers and was never caught on camera with anyone other than her bodyguards. Still, based on her words, it was plain Alexandria was deeply in love.
"I'm the lucky one." Alexandria smiled brightly.
"You must really love her." Clarke gulped down her anxiety.
What was wrong with her? She was on a job. The job. The one that would make or break Clarke's lifelong goal. Yet she was speaking to Alexandria Woods about true love. Already, she could hear Raven's voice in her mind, telling her to get over it and focus on work.
"I love her more than anything or anyone. She is the bravest, strongest, smartest and the most beautiful woman that's ever walked this Earth. I will love no one else the way I love her."
"Ms. Woods, the guest you wished to speak with, has arrived." An enormous man offered from behind them, and Alexandria's whimsical expression fell.
"If you'll excuse me, Ms. Griffin," Alexandria replied, dipping her head and then heading inside.
The blonde took a deep breath and closed her eyes to center herself. She wasn't expecting Alexandria fucking Woods to approach her and the woman's presence took the blonde's mind off her task. She was so stunning in her dress and the way Alexandria's hair fell over her shoulders … Nope. Focus, Griffin.
Clarke scanned the crowd, taking careful note of each guest present, and stopped when she found her mark. The music changed to a current pop favorite, and the guests swarmed the dance floor, including the target. The blonde crossed the room, weaving in and out of the crowd, then bumped lightly into him.
"My bad…" Clarke offered, and the man shrugged, then continued dancing. The blonde walked nonchalantly toward the exit and out to the driveway, just as her black sedan pulled up. The valet driver gave her a curt nod and a smile as she drove off.
"Holy shit, you made that look easy, Griff!" Raven offered over Clarke's earpiece and the blonde shrugged.
"Job's not done yet, Rae. We can celebrate after I do the hand off with Miller."
"Yeah, yeah. I was holding my breath big time when I saw the Queen of Crime talking to you. Could you imagine how loaded we'd be if we landed some jobs from the fucking commander?"
Raven was plainly thinking years into the future. This job was an entry-level gig, meant for small-time thieves. There wasn't a chance it would gain the attention of Alexandria Woods. Hell, that the commander even stopped to talk to Clarke had her heart hammering in her chest. What if the diamond burning a hole in Clarke's pocket belonged to the Woods family? What would Alexandria do if she learned Clarke was the one to steal it?
No. She couldn't think like that. If the diamond belonged to the commander, not even Clarke would be able to touch it. Do the job and go home, Griff.
"Enough, Rae. Focus, we have a job to do." Clarke redirected. "I'm pulling up to the docks now."
"Ms. Griffin, right on time. I gotta say, you're making quite a name for yourself." Miller offered as he stepped from the shadows.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Clarke narrowed her eyes in confusion.
"I mean, you've gotten the attention of the powers that be."
"What can I say? They underestimated us." Clarke grinned as she reached in her purse and handed over the diamond.
"Us?" Nate narrowed his eyes.
"Me and my team," Clarke shrugged. "I've been telling you how badass we are and no one seems to listen."
"We're listening now, Griffin. The boss wants to meet you." Nate replied.
"Unh-uh, I don't do higher ups and you know it, Nate. I make plenty of money working with lowlifes, like yourself." There was a reason for Clarke's hesitation. Or rather, feigned hesitation.
Clarke grew up in this world. Her father was a big time fixer who worked for Alexandria Wood's father. While it made the Griffins loads of money, it inevitably led to his death. The last time she spoke to her father, Jake made her promise to stay away from the Woods' family and any family like them. Never meet the bosses, only the middlemen. Because once they know your face, you're fucked.
But this wasn't just a job for her. No, this was revenge and by the looks of it, it was working. Nia Eis murdered Clarke's father and if this went the way she planned, the Ice Queen would be dead by morning.
"Boss doesn't make requests, Clarke. She would prefer it if you came willingly. But I've been authorized to use force. Be smart about this, kid. If you come quiet, she'll be less likely to see you as a threat." Nate said as four more guards appeared on the docks behind her.
"Oh shit, the Ice Queen does not mess around, Griff." Raven was plainly as nervous as Clarke, if not more so. "People who meet her directly are never seen again. Well, everyone but her family, that is."
Clarke nearly ran. This wasn't at all how this was supposed to go. There were too many guards, and Clarke was unarmed. But one glance at Miller found him reaching for his gun. Behind him, two more men stepped from the shadows. They were dressed in black and had gloves on. One had a black bag in his hand, while the other was opening a small box that had god knows what inside.
"Fine, I'll go willingly." Clarke conceded, praying they didn't check her too thoroughly. She had poison stashed in her purse, meant for Nia.
"Good, you'll fit in just fine with that attitude. Hope you don't get seasick. It's the boss' ship and she won't thank you if you barf in it," Miller replied, motioning for the others to stand down.
"I'll keep that in mind." She gulped, then glanced over their shoulders at the docks. It was dark, with low lighting and no sign of other people. If they wanted her dead, there would be no witnesses, other than Raven, who was across town.
But Nate shook his head. "Before we take off, I need you to undress."
"Excuse me?" Her eyes flew wide in astonishment.
"Nothing personal, Griffin, but we can't take any security risks. Down to your underwear."
"And here I thought you just wanted to gawk at my tits. I should warn you ahead of time that my teammates are listening in. My father always told me to never do a job alone, so I always work with an extra set of eyes and ears." Clarke shrugged and then unzipped her dress, allowing it to fall to the ground. Miller's nostrils flared, and he narrowed his eyes at the wire taped to the blonde's body.
"You might be the stupidest cop ever." Nate replied behind gritted teeth. "Do you know who you're messing with?"
"I'm not a cop. I'm a thief and a damned good one, thank you very much. You said it yourself, I'm getting attention and I do jobs for the richest cartel on the planet. I'd be an idiot not to use a team with the jobs I take and it's how I could give you that diamond." Clarke ripped the wire off and pulled out her earpiece, then tossed them in the water. "Shall we go see your boss?" The blonde raised an eyebrow and gave Miller a confident smirk, who clenched his jaw.
"You just might die tonight, Griffin, and you're standing there like you don't have a care in the world. The boss may like your confidence, but that won't stop her from killing you. Remember that."
"I will." Clarke gulped back her escalating anxiety.
Without clothes or her purse, she would have to alter her plan. Surely there would be something aboard the yacht she could use to kill the Ice Queen. But then Clarke would have to escape. How would she manage that with a few dozen guards three times her size? She was good, but not that good.
"Get on board, your clothes stay here." Miller kicked her dress into the water and then gestured for her to board the yacht first. The staff was preparing beverages and food on the deck with a half moon couch. The blonde took a seat and looked at the glass of champagne that was handed to her cautiously.
"I take it I'm about to go for a nap?" This was a shitshow. How was she going to get out of this mess?
"Yep. Don't worry, the boss has a sense of honor, so she won't kill you in your sleep."
"That makes me feel so much better, thank you," Clarke replied sarcastically, and rolled her eyes before downing the champagne in a single gulp.
"You're quite the brave one, aren't you?" One of the hulking men offered with a chuckle.
"I'm going to see the Ice Queen … dead or alive. I'm fucked either way. If she lets me live, I'm stuck doing jobs for her for the rest of my... Damn … this shit really... kicks…" Clarke blinked slowly. Her entire world just became lopsided. Her limbs felt heavy, and she had trouble seeing.
"Who said anything about the Ice Queen?" Nate smirked.
"Whaa…" The blonde slumped over and passed out before she could finish.
The sun was up when the blonde awoke in a large, soft bed and she looked around the room groggily. Standing to her left was Alexandria Woods, looking breathtakingly beautiful and like she was about to give Clarke the lecture of a lifetime. Great.
"We agreed you wouldn't do business with the Ice Queen … ever!" Lexa began, her worry etched across her features.
Clarke groaned. "Not so loud, Lex. Whatever date rape drug your douchebag lackeys gave me left me with a massive fucking headache."
"I get you want to make her pay for what she did to your father, but seeing her face-to-face?! Do you actually believe that your friends could save you? Don't you realize that you'd be dead if that boat went to Nia instead of me? What were you thinking?" Lexa was rambling now, not that Clarke could blame her.
Lexa was by far the most dangerous woman on the planet. But Clarke always lectured her when she put herself in harm's way. If Lexa had pulled what Clarke had just tried, the blonde would be livid.
"I thought that I'm going to kill her, Lex, and I will do whatever it takes to do that." Clarke pinched the bridge of her nose to ward off the nausea and killer headache caused by the date rape drug she imbibed.
"Clarke, it's too dangerous." Lexa knelt before her and took both of her hands. "Please, let me handle this … I can't lose you, my love. I'm not telling you to quit your job, because I know you love it. Just don't take jobs from Nia and no work in our home. Promise me."
"Fine, I promise no jobs for the Ice Queen or at home. It was a onetime gig, anyhow." Clarke lied, then changed the subject. "Thanks for nearly making me blow my cover earlier … it took everything I had to not jump you right then and there. You're such a romantic. Do you really love me that much?"
"All day, every day, Clarke. I've loved you since I first laid eyes on you." Lexa's features softened, and she leaned forward so their foreheads were resting together. "I nearly lost you."
"Never," Clarke let out a content sigh. "Besides, I knew if something happened, my badass girlfriend would show up to save the day."
"You don't know that." Lexa shook her head. "Nia is lethal, even to me. Which is why we do this my way."
"Promise?" Lexa gave her a scrutinous glare, knowing all too well how headstrong her girlfriend could be.
Clarke expelled a heavy sigh. "Promise."
