Gonna be paying close attention for any details on the blue boa’s origins on my reread but for now my two favorite hcs for the actual species are either a Dumeril’s boa (native to Madagascar, about the only actual boa that’s sort of the right size) or an Angolan python (because it would amuse me greatly if he’s not even a boa, it’s just no one ever thought to figure out what kind of snake he was before turning blue and feathered)

I drew the blue boa from charlie bone! I loved the books when I was younger and. Snakes are awesome.
(I drew the feathers yellow because they are on the german cover of the book. On every other cover the feathers are blue, but. I kind of like it this way better.)
