~ Evil Belldandy and Blue Lance ~

Still riding the nostalgia anime train, I wanted to do a redraw of evil Belldandy and Blue Lance! Especially since it’s a toss up of what colors both of them have for this scene. Super happy with how it came out! 😄

Technically speaking, she’s not officially named during the two episode special, and neither is her fate known after it, since this arc was taken straight from the manga. Only there we get to see what happens to her, as well as the name she eventually gets.

Quick overview

Roderick is the unit who quite frankly made people realise how good firesweep weapons can be. Not only that but Roderick has the stats to abuse it rather well and because of that it makes him somewhat of a sleeper unit, as many people overlooked him. He also comes with some other nice skills, the only real problem with his ideal set is probably the fact he’s cavalry, but he’s still a solid unit and not to be underestimated.

Base kit

Firesweep lance allows Roderick to hit the foe without fearing retaliation. He also does not suffer a penalty for it like windsweep and it always works, the only downside is he can’t counter back, but if you ko the foe before hand that won’t matter much. Drag back pairs nicely with this being able to retreat after combat or bring the foe with him so someone else can finish them off. If we ever get a guidance equivalent for horses Roderick will instantly become one of the best units in the game. Drive defence is nice if he’s being protected by another unit as they’ll enjoy the bulk, as does his dual rally of def/res. In general Roderick is all about poking the foe and then supporting with defence buffs for the rest of the team.

As for an A slot life and death or fury are the best options, meanwhile for specials go Luna to destroy foes.

Pros + Cons

+Amazing base kit, among the best in the game

+Solid choice for 4*+10

+Very nice speed

-If he’s the last unit he will struggle

-Having a horse means he can’t retreat past forests which is a shame

-Will get screwed by some maps especially those with trenches

Partners

Other horse units of course are ideal though he only cares for hone cavalry, and thus any unit who can provide the attack and speed he wants is nice, units like Linde, Delthea, Eirika, Ephraim etc all do this rather well.

Slot A = Life and death, fury

Slot B = drag back, hit and run

Slot C = any c skill

Sacred seals: spd+3

Everything should be ideally focused on Rodericks speed to improve him more, though if you can increase attack as well it’ll be enjoyed. any other stat he can ditch. Anything I said in his base kit applies here though you can run draw back, its better for him compared to reposition due to wanting to be behind a unit.

Abels student

Brave lance+,  reposition, luna

Slot A = life and death, death blow

Slot B = desperation, lance breaker

Slot C = horsebuff or any c skill

Sacred seals: Atk+3

Basically what Abel runs, if you don’t like the firesweep playstyle this is the next best set for you. Focus on maximizing his offences and then sweeping with desperation. Lance breaker hits other fast horse units though you can use sword breaker who ironically Abel is the best fodder for.
