Horse Unit
Quick overview
Who knew I would be blessed by Marth for my bday, ironically his Nendoroid caused me huge discomfort on the 18th bday but anyway this beautiful man, this gorgeous boy, this blueberry should be treasured. Not only is he a rare green tempest unit but comes with a solid weapon and skill set. He’s a solid choice for anyone’s groom or team.
Base kit
Marth comes with ardent service which grants +4atk to him and adjacent allies at the start of the turn. This effectively makes it a 18mt weapon. This effectively means it can outclass a lot of weapons. Wings of Mercy is a solid skill, and while Marth won’t need it due to an amazing move type, it’s nice to have. Drive attack is one of the best C skills in the game allowing many units to pick up KO’s, and for all the fodder people out there yes he has it at 4*s meaning you can have beautiful 5 star man and the fodder too. But finally Marth comes with Rally spd/def which is one of the better rallies out there, and if run with a foritfy res seal, Marth can buff all 4 stats of an Ally.
As for A slots, Fury is a clear choice to buff Marths overall effectiveness, while atk/def bond also has its uses. The newly added brazen atk/def in the 4 star pool is also a highly coveted option for defensive sets.
Pros + Cons
+Amazing weapon
+Solid defence stat to boot
+Free tempest unit
-Needs at least 1 ally on the field to get his free +4 atk
-Lack of ivs and merges hurts
-Low res is never nice
Partners
The best enviroment for Marth is typically horse emblem or at least another horse unit to stick close to him due to similar move, though if using something like vantage or desperations dancers and WOM support is nice. Marth needs protection from red units though so strong blue units like Effie, Shiro, Lukas, Oboro are all solid partners, while legendary Ephraim can dispose of a threat and Marth follow insuit to provide the buff.
Suggested set(s)
Hanna Marthana
Suggested ivs: n/a
Ardent service+, reposition, Bonfire
Slot A = Fury
Slot B = desperation/vantage
Slot C = drive atk, def smoke
Sacred seals: def tactic, buff skills or any c skill
Weapon Refinery: +spd helps him the most and pushes his speed to a nice and comfy 42 before any buffs.
A best of both worlds” set and relies on Marth using furys hp loss to his advantage. Vantage is the best option for this skill letting him strike first enemy phase, but desperation can be taken to sweep teams if on a horse emblem team, though it maybe advised to change his weapon then. A slaying axe is ideally the best option, while having the giant spoon can add extra firepower.
Oh Marth God, he got an alt
Suggested ivs: N/a
Ardent service +, reposition, bonfire/draconic aura
Slot A = brazen atk/def, sturdy stance
Slot B = quick riposte, axe breaker, renewal, guard
Slot C = drive attack
Sacred seals: spd+3, atk+3, close defence
Weapon Refinery: +spd for this set, he wants to secure as many doubles as he can naturally.
Basically a baity set. Marth excels at being able to bait a strong unit out then double them thanks to his high speed. Brazen atk/def is a excellent option for this as once below 80% you can gain +7 atk/def in combat both phases. The B slot is the main issue, quick riposte barely synergises with Marth but ensures quick riposte, axe breaker can help against bold fighter axe armours, while renewal is interesting to go back to full hp at the cost of your buffs, though you can avoid this with sturdy stance. Finally Guard denies the foe charges, allowing Marth to safely attack a unit like Lukas or Shiro a little easier.
Quick overview
I'm personally very happy that Linde is finally getting the recognition she deserves! Along with also being our first cavalry dagger unit which is very exciting. She also has amazing offences with 34/35 being solid by dagger unit means and being the only dagger unit as of now with 3 move means she has a niche no other dagger unit has. Combine this with an amazing weapon and she's one of the best dagger units around.
Base kit
Linde brings her friend Stella the starfish (If you get that reference hit me up) which is a free desperation for her. Fantastic skill as it frees up her B slot in the future. As for other skills, Linde also comes with Brazen Atk/res which the atk is nice, the res maybe not as much but allows her to tank magic hits slightly better. Speaking of magic hits, she also comes with cancel affinity which allows her to destroy raven tome units who dare oppose her. A solid skill especially due to her weapon. Finally ardent sacrifice helps her get into desperation range and the brazen range so it's a really nice skill to have.
As for the C slot really anything works but horse teams should be using horse buffs. As for specials Iceberg can be used on a Linde in the brazen range or who is +res ,but typically it's safe to go with Luna, or Moonbow.
Pros + Cons
+ Solid offences by dagger unit standards
+Amazing weapon
+Unique niche in the dagger class sets her apart from other dagger units.
-Lowish overall bulk means she will find it hard to fight high atk foes.
-Limited time unit means hard to get set ivs or merge
-Suffers the bst loss of Horses + ranged units.
Partners
Linde excels on a horse team despite their being Brave Lyn and Valentines Roy in the mix due to her weapon and the ability to destroy a teams defence due to stat drops. Ideally Linde needs physical walls to protect her so units like Eldigan, Ares, Xander, Frederick and Camus all help a lot.
Suggested set(s)
I'm a little Linde fish in the deep blue sea
Suggested ivs: +atk/spd -hp/def
Starfish+, reposition, Moonbow/glimmer/luna
Slot A = Brazen atk/spd / atk/res, swift sparrow, fury
Slot B = cancel affinity, sword breaker
Slot C = any c slot
Sacred seals: Heavy blade, atk+3, spd+3, atk/spd smoke
Weapon refinery: Go +spd ideally though if +spd you might find +atk will do more for you.
Linde's niche as a 3 move dagger unit is amazing and easily abused further due to the help of the smoke seals, and with the right C slot she can debuff every stat at once. However the fact she gets horse buffs means she can boost her offences further while increasing her bulk too to become a hard starfish to knock off its perch. You can use her default brazen to make her matchup vs mages better but brazen atk/spd is nice. Fury offers all around utility and hp loss to get into desperation. Cancel affinity is ideal due to it being budget and nice to have vs raven units but swordbreaker is a solid option vs fast sword units like Karla, Ayra and Mia.
A day at the races
Suggested ivs: +Atk/spd -def/hp
Lethal carrot/Kagami mochi/Barb shuriken+, reposition, Moonbow
Slot A = swift sparrow, brazen atk/spd
Slot B = desperation
Slot C = Any C skill
Sacred seals: heavy blade
Weapon refinery: Go +spd ideally though if +spd you might find +atk will do more for you.
Linde can feed her horse a carrot and make it into a lean mean killing machine able to pick off foes one by one. However carrots are somewhat rare in the heroes universe and as such I suggest using the barb shuriken as well, though please don't feed one to a horse. Both weapons accelerates Linde's offence and with desperation back in the B slot, able to rip through a foe.
Quick overview
Titania in some ways got screwed by the newest update. We were expecting something amazing but then tragedy struck when all she got was a legendary emerald axe with res tactic? Mind you res tactic is the important thing here for a lot of reasons. For a start, Titania is currently the only unit in the game able to run 3 tactic skills at once meaning she can be a deadly buff bot to the rest of the team. Still in order to do so she leaves her self wide open to reds to be careful.
Base kit
Draconic Poleaxe's name is very misleading just being a glorified emerald axe, however having res tactic as a refine is really nice for the most part so it's not all bad. Guard helps her tanking role as it stops units like Reinhardt charging their specials. Reciprocal aid is nice for healing allies though nothing ground breaking. Finally armoured blow is nice I guess? Honestly Titania is a defensive unit by nature and probably won't be needing it all that much. To round her out iceberg or glacies is suggested due to her res stat. Any C skill works but the most notable shoutout is tactic skills due to being able to apply 3 tactic skills at once.
Pros + Cons
+ A legendary emerald axe with res tactic is nice I suppose
+Killer Blue mage counter
+Being a cavalry unit means 3 move and horse buffs which is nice.
-If you use her trio tactics then you leave her wide open to red units
-Very poor attack at base
-Lacks diversity a lot of the time making her easy to plan for.
Partners
So there is one unit in the game who heavily benefits and synergises so well with Titania. And that unit is Eirika. Because of Titanias triple tactic skills she guarantees Eirika at least +6 in 3 stats on her self and then +6 from her weapons effect, effectively putting her at +12 in all stats, not to mention Eirika able to give Titania buffs as well. Whats more Titania thanks to her legendary weapon's main passive can demolish blue units who oppose Eirika. Overall She's the best team mate Eirika could hope for. Outside of that any mixed team or horse emblem team is glad to have her, units like Camilla who can give buffs to horse units while not themselves a horse unit are also enjoyed.
Suggested set(s)
Tactina
Suggested ivs: +atk/spd -hp
Draconic poleaxe, reposition, iceberg
Slot A = Distant counter, fury, fierce stance, close defence
Slot B = Guard
Slot C = tactic skill, ploys or any c skill
Sacred seals: def tactic, drive skills.
Weapon refinery: In this set we're abusing her tactic refine, however if you don't plan to run tactics then go with something like +spd or +res
Titania is the only unit able to use triple tactics as of now and thats part of the main reason to use her, with def tactic as a seal she can pick either the spd or atk tactic in the C slot, with atk tactic being the more prefered choice, while someone units may enjoy the spd to prevent doubles.Guard allows her to stop units breaking through her and thus stop her providing buffs, while you could use QR she's generally speedy as is. As for her A lot, DC is a no brainer and she's still up there pick wise however fury is a nice budget option or stance skills.
Dual phase, green bean machine
Suggested ivs: +atk/spd -hp/def
Slaying axe+, reposition, iceberg
Slot A = Fury, distant counter
Slot B = desperation, green tome breaker
Slot C = ploys or any c slot
Sacred seals: spd +3, atk+3, ploys
Weapon refinery: Go +spd or +res, +res more so if using DC or ploys.
Titania doesn't have to wield a Emerald axe, instead she can run a slaying axe to shorten the time taken to proc iceberg, to help remedy her offence. Infact it helps she's able to be slightly dual phase with a slaying axe either using desperation to sweep through a foe or DC to counter mages to then use desperation to sweep. However fury is a good option for general purposes and as always super powerful with desperation.
Quick overview
So Finn has a case for being the best Lance cavalier in the game. Amazing attack, a very good budget set, decent speed and being free, Finn has all the makings of an amazing cavalier except he has no ivs, nor does he have the ability to merge at crazy levels. For anyone needing a non magic blue cav I highly suggest going to Finn if you want something easy.
Base kit
Finn comes with the brave lance (lowkey upset he didn’t have his own weapon but oh well) and brave lance does him wonders. Hitting twice is great but his ability to hit hard and have horse buffs makes him a powerful force. Atk/def 2 grants +2 to attack and defence and while not the best skill its a very nice one for budget sets. Goad cavalry is somewhat weaker than hone cavalry but it can’t be panic ployed or ignored as of now so I highly suggest not passing it up at first sight. If you prefer to keep your horse units apart this skill might be better for you. Finally Miracle is well…. it’s handy? But Honestly Finn wants to KO the foe before they KO him.
As for B slots desperation can be used if giving him a new speed increasing A slot, but otherwise lance breaker, sword breaker and chill defence are solid options.
Pros + Cons
+34 base attack is incredibly solid
+His speed, at 33, is solid too
+He is an incredibly cheap unit to build. Coming with a Brave lance is always nice.
-A lack of Merges and Ivs really hampers him
-His resistance is awful
-The blue horse spot is very competitive because of Reinhardt
Partners
Horse units obviously make the best partners with Finn, Exalted Chrom is a noticeable shoutout thanks to chill defence otherwise most horse units will pair nicely but a unit like Eliwood and Titania who have high res can act as a mage wall for Finn.
Suggested set(s)
Fin.
Suggested ivs: N/A
Brave Lance+, reposition, bonfire/luna
Slot A = Death/Sturdy blow, Life and death, Brazen atk/spd
Slot B = desperation, lance breaker
Slot C = Horse buff or Any C skill
Sacred seals: Atk+3, spd+3, brash assault*
Coming with a brave lance makes Finn super easy to build. Basically his most important stats are atk/spd, you can keep his default A slot but any of the above are preferred. If using life and death then Luna > Bonfire as it drops him below the 30 benchmark for the skills. Desperation is ideal and if using death blow you can combine it with the brash assault seal to quad through foes. Lancebreaker otherwise enables him to beat other lance cavaliers like Camus, Oscar and Peri.
My devotion is on fire
Suggested ivs: N/A
Firesweep Lance+, reposition, Luna
Slot A = Life and death
Slot B = Lancebreaker, hit and run
Slot C = Horse buff or Any C skill
Sacred seals: atk+3, spd+3
A fire sweep lance allows Finn to become a fearsome poking unit. You just want to focus on his offences again to power through foes. Lance breaker can be used but hit and run lets you retreat a space. While any C slot works on mixed teams I suggest using drive skills.
Quick overview
Reinhardt, my buddy my pal, my man who stole the master sword from link. I’m lowkey surprised you weren’t a flier or some weird thing to scare poor F2P even more. Meet arguably the best brave user in the game people, a legendary brave sword which works in both phases is nuts for any unit and a unit like Reinhardt is scary with it. However I feel I should stress this. Normal Reinhardt is scarier, based on the fact that 1. Blue is a better colour at the current time and 2. Magic is better than Melee for damage out put. So don’t worry that’s the good news at least, the bad? Reinhardt can quad Enemy phase so yeah....
Base kit
Meisterschwert literally translates as master sword, and it sure is, -5 speed for the ability to always double is well worth it. Oh and it’s 11 might as well so he’s going to be deadly. Oh add death blow his ideal A slot and you’re basically given a killing machine, Vantage also is nice as it lets him get a hit in before potentially dying. Spur atk/def2 is a nice support option but its really up to your tastes.
Honestly his base kit is viable so just use it + reposition if you don’t want to invest.
Pros + Cons
+ Amazing attack stat
+Access to horse buffs is a huge boon
+His weapon works in both phases…
-Awful speed will be doubled
-Doesn’t really wanna drop any stat
-He’s red and well weak to himself.
Partners
Literally hone cavalry I’m just saying that, thats all you need to know…
But okay throw on the new Olwen or any other green mage and you are good.
Suggested set(s)
Reinhardt Red edition
Suggested ivs: +atk -spd
Meisterschwert, reposition, Moonbow/glimmer
Slot A = Death blow
Slot B = Sword breaker, vantage, chill def
Slot C = Horse buffs, any c slot
Sacred seals: Heavy blade
So the standard Reinhardt set, you can literally just decimate teams with this, sword breaker is ideal for dealing with units like Ayra but vantage allows him to strike first if need be. Chill defence is also very nice for more damage.
Reinhardt the red sword cav
Suggested ivs: +Atk -spd
Meisterschwert,, reposition, draconic aura/moonbow/glimmer
Slot A = Distant counter, fierce stance, fury
Slot B = Vantage, quick riposte
Slot C = Horse buff,Any C skill
Sacred seals: Atk+3, heavy blade, quick riposte
Basically a enemy phased dual set which makes him a beast. The ability to quad on enemy phase, yes quad due to his weapon and quick riposte is scary, vantage is also scary as he can hit both strikes first and with heavy blade proc moonbow or glimmer. Distant counter is his best A slot to slay as many foes as possible otherwise fierce stance and fury are nice options too.
Quick overview
Another unit on their 3rd review thanks to access to a new weapon and Oh boy does this help make Eldigan a must have horse unit, admittedly Ares still boasts the ability to be summoned at 4 stars. Still the weapon alone is what makes these characters, the ability to proc instant bonfire is insane, I really can’t say more, and there’s so many creative options, they are one of the few units able to abuse AOE skills for example. Eldigan is now a tippie top tier unit.
Base kit
Mystletainn gives -1 on special charges which makes it a incredible weapon on its own but having fury 3 built in when refined? is super nice. Considering he can stack this with his A slot of fury, he’s the only unit able to get +6 in all stats at base. Though this means he takes -12 damage every turn. However he now gets it’s Dark Version which is 10x better, his original weapon is still usable but -2 on any special if he procs it bar Galeforce and a standard - still there is insane. It makes Growing light okay for him, even though I still wouldn’t use it.. Finally Lunge isn’t that great, it has some niche utility but nothing fancy.
Pros + Cons
+Amazing weapon option
+Able to be offensive or defensive
+Decent attack and defence make him a solid unit
-Low res is never nice, even with extra res from fury(s)
-If running double fury -12hp is going to drain him quickly
-30 speed with double fury is kinda meh
Partners
Other horse units are a no brainer, units like Titania and Cecilia can take care of his blue mage weakness and deal with them nicely. Units like Delthea and Linde also offer +6 atk arguably his most important stat to boost.
Suggested set(s)
Spinal fluid explosion horse
Suggested ivs: +atk/spd -res/hp
Mystletainn, reposition, Bonfire/Vengeance
Slot A = Fury
Slot B = Vantage, desperation
Slot C = Horse buff or any C slot
Sacred seals: Heavy blade, atk+3
Weapon refinery: Fury is the ideal choice here
Basically a cheapish option, running double fury isn’t super bad as it puts you in range of Vantage pretty easily. You can reach 57 attack with a atk boon, 63 with horse buffs which a lot of units will easily fall too. You can abuse heavy blade as well to make specials like vengeance and bonfire proc every other turn. Speaking off, you can run desperation if you want the offensive route as well to proc them instantly however this should only be attempted on a horse team. or with some kind of speed ploy help. The reason Vengeance is listed is that on avg in 4 combat turns he will be at 1hp which is 23 points of damage, 3 more than bonfire, but bonfire tends to be more reliable.
One shot pony
Suggested ivs: +Atk -res, hp
Dark Mystletainn, reposition, bonfire
Slot A = Distant counter, Brazen atk/def
Slot B = vantage
Slot C = Horse buff or Any C skill
Sacred seals: Atk+3, distant defence
Basically taking his son’s standard set, Eldigan can OHKO most things in the game once he gets going and with vantage makes it incredibly hard to engage him as a unit. Really DC is his best A slot to cover the most amount of foes as possible but Brazen atk/def is a good budget option, or even Fury to help boost his bonfire damage even more.
Heya kai! Thoughts on me Stahl? I’m thinking switching qr3 as a seal opening his B slot for idk and maybe also his A skill Thanks for everything you do!
He’s pretty solid! Obviously close defence is an option when you can get it, though I would like to suggest brazen atk/def now that it’s at 4 stars from ares, which means he’s gonna be bulkier once out for QR. I’d suggest swordbreaker as an option, or axebreaker to help beat axe units like Amelia
