Blue Olive + Mio Gelato + Tea Chai Té = Good Food, Good Time, Good Friends
Today was quite adventurous! I finally got to hang out with my friends since they got back from Seoul and Nagoya. I haven't seen them in a while and with spring term starting up, we haven't had the chance to set a date time to just chill. My friend, Jessica, is also going back to Nagoya again to finish school because she just up and left when her family started freaking out about the radiation and tsunami. My friend that got back from Seoul, Teresa, has been super busy with school also since she transferred back home from UC Irvine.
ANYWAYS, we tried to meet up at noon at Starbucks on campus where Teresa and I go to, but that didn't go so well. Jessica left her American phone in Japan and just have her Japanese phone on her so there was no way to contact her. She didn't have our numbers either so it was just bad. We realized that there was another Starbucks closed to campus so we weren't sure if she went to that one. We walked back and forth probably 3 times trying to see if she was at either one. We waited for probably 30 minutes. We finally realized that maybe she sent us a message through facebook and checked on there. She sent us a message saying that she was going to meet us at the library and that was sent 30 minutes before we were supposed to meet up. But nobody checked fb at all. We were confused again because she didn't specify if it was the university library or the city library, just a few blocks away. It was already 12:45 so we decided to catch the streetcar to the library but it was already there, thus we had to run for the next stop blocks away. It was intense. We got to the library, went in, went around the library and didn't see her. We thought she already left and totally felt bad. We decided to check back again at Starbucks and decided that the was the last try because we were starving. She was MIA so we decided to just go to Chipotle. BUT, I for some reason had an urge to check my phone again to see if she perhaps answered back. Just trying out my luck. BAM! She replied! She said that she was still at the library so we went back and told her to stay there and just chill. It was already 1:30. We got there and there she was!!! FINALLY! Hugs and miss yous around! Apparently, she went on campus and was running around like crazy, tried to hack on the campus computers and just crazy! It was just wow.
Got in the car to go to the Pearl District for some food and fun. Trying to find parking was a bitch though. Uphill parking is never fun either. We weren't sure which place to eat at because there's good food everywhere. We walked a few blocks to go to Blue Olive, a Mediterranean place for some lunch. We got in a restaurant called Blue Moon and already got menus, when I realized it was a Tavern and Grill. We looked across the street and there was Blue Olive. We weren't sure what to do because the guy already went to the back to get water for us. We sat there and just didn't what to do. We were so hungry that we just went into a restaurant with a sign that said Blue. So we decided to just book it across the street like criminals on the run. The waiter saw us, too. We got there, grabbed some bomb ass food, chatted about everything, then decided to get some gellato for desert. We stayed at the gellato place for another 2 hours after staying for 2 hours at the Mediterranean place just talking stories. We saw some guy with boba and decided to get boba afterwards. We kept talking for another hour before finally leaving the place. We got boba and my friend got popping balls. Yeah, it's some new shizz that has liquid flavoring inside the tapioca pearl. It's odd. But whatever.
We just pigged out the whole day and honestly, it was one of the best days! It was nice and sunny out so this spring day totally made it work for us. Lots of crazy things happening. It was just an eventful and adventurous day! Hopefully we have another one before Jessica leaves because it truly truly wonderful!
