My homemade ◦.·Body Oil·.◦ made with rare ✧Blue Tansy✧ essential oil, Lavender oil and an MCT carrier oil. This oil smells fruity (from Blue Tansy) and herbal (from Lavender) and leaves a divine smell on my skin after the shower.

Tanacetum annuum (blue tansy, Moroccan chamomile)

Common tansy (Tanacetum vulgare) is a frequent guest on Flowerishness but blue tansy is native to Morocco and the Iberian Peninsula. It was first described by Linnaeus in 1753.  An essential oil made from this plant, is the current “It” product in the world of cosmetics. As you can see, this downtown makeup shop is decorated like a temple to this humble ‘weed’. Blue tansy actually has yellow flowers just like it’s ‘weedy’ cousin and this massive dried flower arrangement is really quite impressive. 

Blue tansy essential oil contains chamazulene. which is said to have anti-inflammatory properties and gives the oil it’s distinctive blue color. It is refined using a steam infusion method and requires enormous numbers of flowers to produce a small quantity of oil. I don’t know if this stuff can really “turn back the hands of time” but one of those little bottles is priced at $130 (for less than two ounces). Unfortunately, it doesn’t come with a money-back guarantee.
