Paradoxum Tricker

What is a Tricker?

They are an eldritch form of Chromatoons that have gone “rogue’ in the eyes of humans and un-affected Chromatoons. They become eldritch cryptids known as Trickers.

These unfortunate souls are experiencing abnormal biological changes within themselves. Most humans believe it’s just an unfortunate side effect of living in the same dimension as humans, and their own existence is being forced to adapt in the human’s current reality. It’s not a virus, or even an illness, it’s just a change in their biology. Regardless of a Chromatoon’s health, they are transforming into something unknown to them. It first starts with small innocent changes to their anatomy, very random, like growing extra limbs/digits, or change in eye shape/color. It is also good to note that not all trickers are dangerous, and not all chromatoons become trickers. Very few Trickers will experience a change in behavior, and afterwards a complete change to their whole psyche.

Those who remain self-aware after their transformation, simply hide their condition, even as far as being in denial. They will hide it from the world, afraid they will be captured and put in some form of solitary confinement.

There are two types of trickers that are formed.

(Formerly Red Trickers) Rougers are the most commonly documented chromatoons to have gone rouge. Rougers are chromatoons that slowly evolve into eldritch entities. Not only are they notable for their monstrous form, but also for their piercing red eyes and other sudden cryptic appearance. Almost every chromatoon that has turned into a rouger has gone through the complete transformation, sometimes without permanently staying in their monstrous form; meaning at will they can turn back into their former selves. Rougers, (if dangerous) can be extremely deceitful, especially since they can now physically change their appearance back and forth.

(Formerly Blue Trickers) Ceruleans are extremely rare and go through the same biological change as rougers but rather than turning into eldritch abominations, they develop to appear more elegant and less barbaric than their rouger counterparts. Some gain a higher consciousness, better intelligence, health, and strength than the average chromatoon or human; making them appear more alien. One prominent trait that ceruleans have is their piercing blue eyes. ceruleans so far are only a speculation. A cerulean has not been officially documented, although witnesses state they do exist. Many believe there aren’t many but instead the “one” cerulean that may have triggered the biological changes chromatoons are experiencing. This so far is only a theory.

tl;dr: Some normal chromatoons are turning into trickers. There are 2 types of trickers: blue tricker Ceruleans and red tricker Rougers. Only some chromatoons are turning into trickers, not all. 

They got the title tricker because of how deceitful they can be, if they’re dangerous. But not all trickers are evil.

Chromatoons are going through some sort of weird biological change that is throwing everyone the hell off.

UPDATE: A lot of the changes Chromatoons are experiencing is reminiscence to Prion Diseases. Prion Diseases can come in genetic, sporadic, or sometimes acquired forms.
