Just got two Ceanothus thyrsiflorus finally! These are more of a 'near native' than a true native where I live. They're native to southern Oregon and all through California. As the climate changes, many biologists are proponents of assisted migration. This is when humans take plants historically native to a nearby region, but are likely to thrive in a new area in the future. Ceanothus thyrsiflorus (Blue blossom or California lilac) is an attractive evergreen shrub with incredible blue blossoms that bumblebees love. It blooms for an exceptionally long time as well!
