Day 20, here we go!
Hey wait a minute! We already covered fantasy! It was part of the speculative fiction prompt from 5 days ago, what the hell?!
*grumble grumble* ok, fine I guess. Although Romantasy is still spec-fic. and I am going to be making some tweaks in preparation for next year, I'll let it slide for now and answer the prompt.
I am a romance reader, I am a fantasy reader, I have read romances with fantasy elements (and fantasies with romance elements), but Romantasy is more than that, imo. Romantasy has its own unique flavour, one I wish I could describe better than "I know it when I see it". Of the books I have read in 2025, the one that fits this particular flavour profile the best would be How I Swapped Places with the Villainess, Beat Up Her Fiancé, and Found True Love, by BlueBlue.
This book also have the benefit of one of the funniest prologue I have ever read. The rest of the book is good, if typical, but the opening is golden.
