Hayley would never get used to that landing. Never! She rushed out of the TARDIS and promptly threw up. She didn’t care about where they’d landed, at that point.

Was it coincidence or fate that it was a Dalek that would destroy Henry after what they had tried to do to his great grandfather? To the young man who had only ever wanted to touch the stars with his fingertips and belong it felt like a good way to go:

Dying for the Doctor. Dying to protect something precious. They had wanted him to become part of a hybrid Dalek. The monster’s fascination that they were still trying to figure out from last time. But they had wanted to use his organs not his mind – human parts to run the machines… to get the Dalek race moving again…. The Doctor had gotten there just in time before they had removed vital organs but the bleeding was still fatal –  but Henry’s task was not yet COMPLETE. Whilst they had been distracted by their enemy’s monologues he had, holding his injuries with one hand he had hacked into the alien software crashing it completely. They had only realised what he’d done when the Doctor had done the bit he did best, destroy the machines, even if he got them working again, the software was gone, malfunctioned. Even if they tried to do the same thing again, it would take them years to be able to do much of anything.

Henry Martin, Defeater of the Daleks. It was only when he got into the TARDIS did he drop his act, glad for the large black hoody to be disguising his damage this whole time. He held onto the rail trying to remain calm as his blood dripped onto the TARDIS floor.

“But -–!” She had been so kind, she had listened, even though The Doctor had also listened –– she was one of the first girls to ever actually sit and listen too.  But he’d been played, like a fool. His face still red with that revelation the fact that the Doctor now had to stop her before she ruined this planet.... “What are you going to do to her?”
