Southern Bluefin Tuna

These tuna are the largest species of its kind and can live up to fourty years. Tuna has been subject to massive fishing. The primary market is in the Japanese Sashimi market and is considered highly valuable. Because of this and other markets such as Australia, the status of its population is endangered.

I also noticed some strange obsession in anime with certain types of food and most notably this tuna. It is sort of a "sidekick/mascot" for Luka Megurine, which is why I chose this fish. Kinda odd and I don't know whether this is good or…harmful for this fish species.
