🎃 I don’t understand what the blue pumpkin would achieve. What should people do differently to an autistic trick-or-treater? Are there seriously people who withhold candy if child is shy or can’t speak? If so, those people are jerks and are not worth buying another bucket for. Don’t teach your child to give into those people by tagging him/her as different, teach him to recognize bullying and shaming. People giving out candy should be kind and considerate no matter what. I feel like this is just unnecessarily tagging children as different when all they want is to be accepted. Blue is also the color of Autism Speaks, an organization responsible for spreading fear, hatred, and stigma toward autistic people. ...Not to mention that a teal pumpkin also means the kid has food allergies, so an autistic kid is likely to get candy they might not like if they carry a blue bucket.
