Reading Dracula is a great example of this because it’s pretty clear from how it’s written that there’s supposed to be a bunch of “subtle” clues that there’s something fishy about this count guy but to a modern reader, reading D R A C U L A, it’s hilariously obvious that this dudes a vampire and everybody thinks Jonathan’s a moron

Oh, yeah, that’s a good one.    Sometimes I’ll watch Star Trek and try to remind myself that the characters have never dealt with such-and-such before, so of course they’d be confused.   It’s weird.

Man what is with those weird thick outlines in the goten and trunks scenes??

Yeah, I’ve always wondered that myself.    It only happens in the Hitler scenes and nowhere else.  

It kind of resembles the style used for the opening scene of Episode 252, but not quite, and I don’t think it ever shows up anywhere else in DBZ, so I don’t know what the deal is.

That’s a real “I like the way they draw feet on dragonballz” ass cell foot in that one shot. Also who the fuck kicks with the tip of their foot??? People with weird yellow pointy shoes feet I guess...

What I want to know is, what was Dr. Gero thinking?   Perfect Cell’s entire foot used to be Imperfect Cell’s center toe.    The other toes turned into those things on his ankles.   Did he plan for that?   Did he design all three forms?    “Yes, and when he absorbs 17, he’ll have to grow hot dog lips, but once he absorbs 18, he’ll have a normal mouth like everyone else!”

Maybe the computer did all of that, and it just fucked Cell up because it was like one of those heuristic AI deals that tries to name cats or create cute photos and it just ends up being weird.   

I mean, I could make a case that Cell doesn’t even have toe bones to break, but his feet are an enigma all to themselves.   Why does he squeak when he walks?   What’s that about?    Why can’t he just kick normal like Goku?

Now there’s a kick you can set your watch to.

It’s considered polite to bring some kind of gift (usually food) when you visit someone’s home- that’s probably why they’re looking for a gift for roshi. Normally these barbarians just show up at Kame house or Burma’s or wherever so I guess in this case it’s just an excuse for them to go into the city and see the chaos

Ahhh, that explains it.   

Now I’m thinking back to when Goku first went to Roshi’s place to become his student.    I thought Krillin was kind of pushy by bribing him with porn, but Goku basically marched into his house, dumped his luggage on the floor, and ate all the food in this fridge.

I spent like a whole minute staring at that pic of vegeta just admiring his huge ears. I was gonna be all “why do they even look like that” because I don’t really think of ears like that with monkeys but I googled some snow monkey pictures and while you can only really see the tips of the ears on adults because of all the fur on juveniles you can see the whole ear and it’s pretty much exactly that shape...the more you know....

Huh.   Well, you learn something new every day.
