Reading Dracula is a great example of this because it’s pretty clear from how it’s written that there’s supposed to be a bunch of “subtle” clues that there’s something fishy about this count guy but to a modern reader, reading D R A C U L A, it’s hilariously obvious that this dudes a vampire and everybody thinks Jonathan’s a moron
Oh, yeah, that’s a good one. Sometimes I’ll watch Star Trek and try to remind myself that the characters have never dealt with such-and-such before, so of course they’d be confused. It’s weird.
