something old and something new— for Kenny, and Verdi: What are your character's opinions on scars? Is your character's appearance more telling or deceiving? Is there a habit your character has that they learned from someone else? What is your character's favorite form of affection? What scents does your character find comforting? What is a topic your character would be excited to talk about?
What are your character's opinions on scars?
Kenny: Unfortunate the way some of them happen, sad when they're reminders of grief. But sometimes they have a fun story tied to them.
Verdi: They'll fade over time, right? ...Right???
Is your character's appearance more telling or deceiving?
Kenny: Extremely telling. He looks like a kind uncle and that is what he is!
Verdi: He looks a lot worse off than he actually is. He used to take a lot closer care of his appearance, but he's grown to look kind of scraggly recently.
Is there a habit your character has that they learned from someone else?
Kenny: A little from everyone he's ever loved, whether he remembers them or not.
Verdi: He has a little ritual he always does before a performance to make sure it goes well, which he picked up from his teacher. First step onto the stage has to be the left foot. Touch the engraving on his fiddle twice. Three breaths before the first note.
What is your character's favorite form of affection?
Kenny: Little gestures that show he's being thought of.
Verdi: Affirmation, compliments, praise.
What scents does your character find comforting?
Kenny: Baked goods, fresh brewed coffee, clean laundry.
Verdi: Dried herbs, wood smoke, rain.
What is a topic your character would be excited to talk about?
Kenny: Genuinely, he loves talking to people about their own interests, especially if it's something he's not familiar with. Infodump about your special interest to him, he'd be delighted to sit and listen.
Verdi: Any of the great performing artists he's been lucky enough to see for himself! Styles and techniques that inspire him, new instruments he'd love to try someday, songs he wish he could have remembered better.
