2. Your favorite character that someone else has played; 9. Your favorite thing about D&D; 21. Have you ever regretted something your character has done?; 26. What was your favorite scene to write and show your characters?; 31. What is your favorite class? Favorite race? :3c
2) Elyss. Best water gorl
9) The characters - both PCs and making NPCs. Every so often everything gets So Good and you enter that D&D zen and you’re so completely immersed in the world. Also can never go wrong with FEELINGS and those very good moments. Can never go wrong with good worldbuilding, but worlds feel hollow without charming and diverse characters to populate them with.
21) Jermaine had to fight against his old mercenary band whose leader was under the thrall of a beholder (and was previously dead to boot!). I, as a player, completely forgot I had a bottle from Mount Celestia that could purify a soul from waaaaay back in session one until AFTER the moment had passed, so I used it on another member of my old mercenary band that may/may not have also been under the beholder’s influence. Just a weird character moment that was clearly me as a player going “oh shit I forgot this until just now” and trying to make up for it.
26) In my campaign, the party perished at the hands of a newly born lich, and through the intervention of some deities of death, ended up alive(?) in the Shadowfell. A secret society in Evernight was led by a high level gnome druid that knew plane shift, but because the party is a bunch of Goody Good Goods ended up making a handful of friends that they wanted to rescue from this plane of existence. That number exceeded the maximum number that could be sent in a single plane shift, and with a powerful adversary currently bearing down on them, the party had to make a decision of who would fight and likely perish alongside the remaining members of this secret society and who would flee to the material plane. We did this in person, and with the addition of some friends who weren’t involved in the campaign, formed a ring of 9 people. As the party (and the fill-ins) held hands, I counted off the number of people traveling via this spell aloud. “1. 2. 3.” all the way up to 8, whereupon I immediately gave a flowery description of the spell taking place as the party shifted through the astral plane and finally returned home. For those curious, the plane shifters, in addition to the caster, were:
5 - A 17 year old druid initiate of this secret society that was born and raised in the shadowfell and had never seen the sun.
7 - A 6 year old child that they legally purchased during the Festival of the Dead
8 - A nearly mortally wounded captain of the secret society, who had just recently died the day before and was reincarnated from a human to a halfling.
They didn’t take Jeff though. Fucking Jeff.
31) Sorcerer is still my favorite class, although I think it’s very underpowered save for Divine Soul. It was the first class I ever played, and I have a soft spot for it. Favorite race is aarakocra, probably in no small part due to Destal - my three year old aarakocra thief - and a precious baby boy, who’s modeled after a Quetzal.
