I'm trying to get better at this whole "drawing" thing - and *wow* coloring is hard. 90% of the time it's "oh god does this color go like that is this a good shade aaaaaaaaahhhhh"
But hey first time I'm posting new art here in..... Forever, so that's a plus
I love Shard and Nicole so much ;-; I love just sketching then out at work in my free time I love their designs a LOT
What started off as just my usual Sonic doodle at work turned into nice little Sonamy moment of the two of them skating together
For being entirely done with pens it's pretty alright 🩵🩷
11pm, right before going to sleep, I had flash of a vision. "Well, I'll just sketch it out so I don't forget it in the morning."
I must have blacked out because 2½ hours later I'm looking at more of a rough coloring than the sketch I intended 😅.
There's a lot of rough spots I want to go over yet - Green Hill Zone in the back is just a vage green blur, chop up the water some more, add more shading and maybe smoke - but overall, right now, I'm incredibly pleased with it.
And Metal Sonic isn't even my favorite character by a long shot 🤣
I'm trying my hand at a Sonic OC, an adult Doe named Amber. She works as an usher for events around town, and most commonly can be seen working in the local Theatre.
I went in and thickened the outline and I really like how it looks, so I might try that from now on. Colors might be a bit off, it's something I'm still trying to learn. I definitely want to get better at shoes - I don't think purple is the right color here, maybe a plain black Mary Jane instead?
I don't have a backstory planned or anything, I just wanted to design a character real quick.
So I got REALLY into Sonic at the end of Summer last year (2024) and drew him a few times. Since then I've spent the last half year doodling Sonic characters at work and lightly practicing at home.
These "style practices" were all done today, and there's a clear improvement that I'm quite proud of. Of course there's a long way to go yet, but it shows that even just simple daily practices to keep the style sharp can do wonders.
